Chapter 26: Jasper's back

               Wynonna is surprising being allowed to hunt with Charlie and Harry. Their promises to protect her and baby Adam was enough to convince her she'd be okay. She is carrying a shotgun, even though she won't shoot one of the pack members.

             It's Wynonna, Charlie, and six other men. Nona is in the back with Harry, neither one of them wanting to find Sam or any of the other pack members since Rachel is watching the kids.

               Wynonna stops as she sees one of the pack member's paw prints. She walks over in her black spaghetti strap and flannel and she watches as Harry kneels beside it after she nudges him.

           "You two for something?" Charlie asks.

          "Nope," Wynonna lies, "nothing."
  
           Harry stands and he allows Wynonna to stomp out the print. The men make her leave early, which she does. She goes to the Cullens house this time and she goes up to Jasper's old room and she opens the old music box. She closes her eyes and she sits in the floor, a hand on her stomach as Adam flips around.

            Jasper heads to the house when the test of the Cullens arrive back that night, Alice and Bella left for Volterra, Italy to save Edward. Jas stops in front of Emmett and Alexander when he smells a very familiar,  calming scent.

              When Emmett goes to speak, Jasper stops him and he closes his eyes to listen. He hears a strong heartbeat, one that he knows belongs to his Wynonna. And then he hears the one that verified it was his Wyn, he hears a second heartbeat.

             Jasper leaves his brothers in his dust as he vamp speeds up to his room. He finds a pregnant Wynonna curled up in his floor, sleeping with the music box he obtained in 1900 playing. He sighs and he goes downstairs.

            "Did one of you leave your beds here?" Jasper asks Emmett and Alex as Carlisle and Esme enter with their luggage.

             "Mine and Rosalie's is up," Emmett replies.

         Jasper walks back upstairs and he picks up Wynonna. She whimpers in her sleep and Jasper freezes. He watches as her face twists a little but she stays asleep. Jasper smiles and he walks her to Emmett and Rosalie's room, finding Rosalie waiting.

             "I got her," Rosalie says as Jasper lays Wyn down.

           Jasper nods, trusting Rosalie. He walks back to his room and finds Esme looking at some pictures she got from the music box, venom in her eyes. Jasper walks over and he looks at them, as well, seeing that they're Wynonna's baby.

          "She's having a little boy," Esme coos as she looks at the latest ultrasound. "A baby boy."

            Jasper smiles and he walks outside, inhaling the fresh air as Emmett and Alexander get the bedrooms all set up again.
