Its been about two weeks since Wynonna was bitten. Adam has kept her in the lab while his wife went home with their son, Nigel, and went to work at the school. Adam fixed it to where Nona was homeschooled, so she'd be excused to practically live in the lab.
But that's starting to change. A few hours after Wynonna woke up, she had some strange feelings. Adam kept a look on her different vitals. Everything was practically normal, though Nona's senses were enhanced. Her eyesight, speed, strength.
And a couple days ago, Wynonna and Adam discovered that Nona can throw webs from her wrist and climb up walls. She climbs up the back side of the lab on the outside and some of the inside walls.
Never in his twenty years as a scientist has Adam ever seen anything like it. He's not planning on doing experiments on his daughter, he plans to help her grow accustomed to her new way of life.
Wynonna knows this. She knows she's now officially different than average humans. She's still technically human according to the labs Adam ran when she first started getting these abilities, just... Better, as Adam had said.
The one main thing Wynonna hates about being in this lab until she and Adam learn a way for her to control her new abilities is the fact she hasn't seen her little brother since she was bit. Her mom will call and tell her how Nigel is doing, but it's not the same. Nona wants to see and hold her little brother.
Wynonna missed her three year little brother more than anything. She didn't really have any friends in school, so she has no one there to miss while she's homeschooled. She does miss Jack a little, but she knows he'll be fine with his... girlfriend. He's with a girl named Shannon or Sharon or Cheryl, the first two letters sound the same but Nona doesn't remember which one her name is. She's certain it's either Shannon or Cheryl.
Wynonna walks over to the small table in the room her dad has assigned to her and she reads a book, careful not to let the paper of each page stick to her hands. That's another thing that sucks about this... Everything sticks to her hands because of the webs.
"You're doing well, Wyn," Adam says from his office. "You should be in enough control in a couple days to go home and see Nigel and your mother."
This puts a smile on Wynonna's smile. She wants to go home, and she does feel like she's in enough control to hold Nigel again and hug her mom again... At home, and out of this lab. Adam has a bad habit of keeping the lab cold. The thermostat is always on sixty degrees or a couple dials up. But never over sixty-five or under sixty.
Wynonna goes over to her bed and she looks at a corner of the room. She uses her webs to make a large web and she climbs into it. Adam watches in awe as his little girl sleeps in a web for the first time since she was bitten.
Adam calls his wife to check on Nigel and to tell her updates on Wynonna. He watches as Nona sleeps while he talks to his wife.
