Chapter 40: Pack and Adam

                 On the day Wynonna and Adam get out of the hospital, Wyn and her kids go to La Push and to Emily's. Emily couldn't make it to the hospital because she was at an appointment, finding out she's pregnant and in her earliest trimester.

         Paul is holding Adam now, feeding him a bottle while everyone sits around Emily and Sam's. Emily is in the kitchen with Eliza while Nigel sits beside Jared on the couch.

           "Maybe they'll say she was in a car crash," Jacob says, ignoring Wynonna's presence. "Or tripped and fell off a cliff."

           Paul growls out at the tv and he looks at his son. "C'mon, littlr man, lets burp you," he murmurs as he moves Adam around carefully.

       "At least I'll get one thing out of it," Jacob sclwoms.

          "No, you won't," Sam says as Paul hands him Adam, who just burped, Sam cradles the small baby. "The Cullens are not a danger to the town or the tribe."

         "Well, he's either gonna kill her or change her," Jacob says as Wyn goes to the bathroom. "And the treaty says..."

         "I say, Jacob," Sam cuts him off. "I say."

           Rachel enters the house as Jacob sits with Embry. The only other one without an import. Leah is laughing at a joke from Nigel, Seth is cooing over Eliza. Rachel is now holding Adam and sitting in between Paul and Wyn. Sam's with Emily, Jared and Kim are now sitting together.

             "He is so handsome, you guys," Rachel coos as she looks  at the baby. "Paul, when are we going to have one and give Adam a younger sibling?"

              "As soon as you wanna start trying," Paul muses, making the imprinted pack members and Wyn laugh. "I'm ready for another."

"You're just ready to get back to trying," Wyn muses as she stands, and takes Adam. "I'm headed to Billy's so he can meet Adam."

Jake jumps up, wanting a ride back home. He bids his farewells to Embry before he follows Wynonna and Adam out to Wyn's car. She drives them to the Black residence and Jacob leads her and the baby inside.

Billy's face lights up when he spots the little boy wrapped in a brown blanket. Wyn hands him over and billy places a hand on the baby's torso, a warm, grandfatherly smile on his face. Jacob goes on to his room for clothes to take a shower. Wyn sits on the couch near Billy, who has yet to look away from the cute little boy.

"What's his name again?" Billy asks. "His full name."

"Adam Enrique Ryder," Wyn replies. "After my dad and after Paul's."

"I remember Enrique," Billy grumbles. "I'm surprised Paul gave Adam that as a middle name."

"Why?" Wynonna asks.

"Enrique left and he abandoned Paul and his mother when Paul was eight years old in Tucson," Billy replies. "But Paul loves Enrique, regardless, for whatever the reason."

              Wynonna nods, she agrees with Billy. Paul never told her about his father leaving. But him wanting to give his son his name says a lot about Paul's love for Enrique Lahote. Billy looks up when the door opens and his jaw drops when he sees his oldest child, Rebecca.

            Rebecca Black is the oldest child of Billy and Sarah Black. She lives in Hawaii with her husband and kids, and she comes to visit every once in a while.

           "Cute baby," Rebecca comments. "I'm Rebecca, but you can call me Becca." 

           "I'm Wynonna," Wyn says. "You can call me Wyn, Wynnie, or Nona."

             Rebecca hugs her dad once Wyn has Adam again. Billy bugs his daughter back tightly as Wynonna leaves the house, and she drives to the pack house.

           "Becca, what are you doing here?" Billy asks his daughter.

             "Emmanuel and I are getting a divorce," Rebecca replies. "He hit Enrique and I filed immediately. I'm moving home, dad. I just have to go get Sarah and Enrique from Sue's in a few."

            "Your room is free until you get on your feet," Billy states. "Go and get those grandbabies of mine."

           Rebecca smiles and she leaves the house after kissing her dad's forehead.
