Chapter 19: Doctor's Appointment with the son

                    It's finally January, and Wynonna is now three months pregnant. Paul still is friendly with Wyn, but he denies the baby. He still won't accept the responsibility. That's fine, she'd rather have Jasper as a father to her child than Paul... If Jas were in Forks.

           "No," Carlisle Cullen says to Alice in the Denali home in Alaska. "We promised Edward."

              "But Bella won't do well without us!" Alice points out in protest; everyone knows about Wynonna's pregnancy - she emailed Esme, Jasper isn't jealous - he wishes he could help her raise the baby. "I get flashes of her, but they're unclear..."

          "Forget her. Let's drag Edward home," Rosalie says. "I want to get back to Wynn." 

          "He'll come back when he's ready," Esme coos. "After Bella moves on."

             "Yes," Carlisle replies. "When she's living her life, safe from danger..."

           "You mean safe from us," Jasper states with self contempt, and Alexander places a hand on Jasper's shoulder.

             "Amd when will that be?" Rosalie asks alice pointedly.

             "Can you see him, Alice?" Emmett asks.

            Alice closes her eyes as the family turns to look at her, and she attempts to get a lock on Edward and his decisions.

                 "The only decision he's made is to be alone," Alice says.

                  Wynonna steps out of Charlie's house and finds him talking to the neighbor, Bob. Nigel is getting dressed now and Eliza is with Sam and Emily. She is crazy about Sam, Wyn thinks it's cute and so does Emily.

           "It's about time you got rid of those, Bob," Charlie says about the neighbor's dirt bikes as Wynonna walks over. "Seen one too many bikers smeared on the highway."

             "Hey there, Wynonna," Bob greets and he turns to Charlie. "And save the lecture, Chief. Soon as the garbage truck hauls 'em off, you and my wife can rest ways. And Wynonna, congratulations."

           Wynonna looks down at her barely showing belly and smiles. "Thank you."

           "Oh, hey," Bob says as the two go to walk away, both stop and face him as Nigel steps out and closes the house door, he walks to Nona's car and stands beside it. "What's the word on that bear problem? Folks are saying they're huge."

         'They're not bears,' Wynonna thinks.

           "They're just... talk..." Charlie says distractedly.

           Wynonna looks back and she sees Bella going to her truck.

           "How you doin' there, Bella?" Bob asks, but Bella ignores him as she goes to her truck.

              Bob looks at Charlie wirh an understanding shrug and he walks away. Wynonna kisses her uncle's cheek and goes to the car. She has a doctor's appointment and since Sam and Emily agreed to keep Eliza today, Nigel was determined to see his new baby sibling.

             Nigel sits in the backseat and fastens his seatbelt as Charlie talks to his daughter. Wynonna fastens her own seatbelt and she drives to Port Angeles, and to the baby doctor office. She walks in and she sighs in and gets registered before sitting with Nigel.

              "This your first?" A pregnant woman asks.

          "She adopted me and my sister," Nigel says and she woman smiles warmly at him. "This is going to be her first time pushing a baby out. And I'm a proud brother already."
