Chapter 31: This Kiss

                     While the coven and Nigel are at school, Wynonna and Eliza are on the rez at Sam's. Billy's over, he's holding Eliza on his lap; Eliza has made him talk about fishing, because she also wants to learn - like her mother.

            Wyn is sitting outside alone while Billy keeps Eliza inside where it's warm. Wynonna places a hand on her stomach and she rubs it up and down when she sees Jacob's dirt bike pull up with Bella on the back.

           "Aren't you supposed to be in school?" Wynonna asks as the boys come piling out, shoveling the last of the food they just ate into their mouths.

           "I'm a bad influence," Jacob jokes.

          "Look who's back!" Embry muses wirh a smile when he spots Bella. 

         "What's up, Bella?" Quil asks in greeting.

         "Quil, you too?" Bella asks.

          "Yep," Quil replies. "Finally made the pack. I'm glad you're here, Bella. Maybe we can get a break from Jake's obsessive inner monologue."

            "I wish Bella would call," Paul teases from the yard, he puts the sucker back into his mouth, Wynonna made sure Sam and Emily had a stock of candy for the pack and the kids.

           "Maybe I should call Bella," Embry chimes in.

         And then it's Quil's turn. "Maybe I suoildncall Bella and hang up."

         "Alright, you can shut up now," Jacob mutters.

      When the guys all begin to laugh and rough house, Bella smiles at them, as does Wynonna. Wynonna has spoken to Bella times but she still doesn't trust her to be alone with Nigel again.

           Leah soon leaves the house and she offers a tight smile to her best friend before she walks down the steps of Emily's. Leah's scowl deepens when she sees gella; Leah's annoyed with the world because her imprint is at grade school but she'll see her little buddy soon.

           "Bella, this is Leah Clearwater," Jacob introduces. "Harry's daughter."

             "If you're here to torture Jacob some more, feel free to leave," Leah says coldly before she sits on the floor beside Wynonna.

             "Fun, isn't she?" Jacob asks Bella, who is taken aback by Leah's anger.

             Sam and Emily soon waxing the house. They walk off the porch as Eliza comes walking out and goes up to Sam, hands on her hips sassily. Sam smiles and he picks the girl up, his godchild. Wynonna made him and Emily godparents to Nigel, Eliza, and baby Adam.

           "Bella... hi," Emily greets as she hugs her, and pulls away. "I was wondering when we'd see your face around here again."

         "Yeah, same here," Bella replies.

         "Sam, we good?" Jacob asks his alpha.

          "We're good," Sam responds. "She won't be getting through our line anytime soon."

            Leah squeezes Wynonna's shoulder before she walks off, glaring at Bella as she passes. The shewolf phases and disappears into the trees as Sam kisses Emily. Bella is shocked to see Leah turn onto a wolf.

               After getting Nigel started on his homework and Eliza eating some sliced bananas, someone rings the doorbell. Wynonna feels better butterflies.

          Wyn walks over and she opens the door. She smiles shyly when she sees Jasper. They've been together before, and yet, he still makes her feel this way. She invites him in and he looks over at Eliza, who is now watching Tom & Jerry on the tv. This Kiss by Faith Hill is playing softly in the background.

               Jasper walks up to Wynonna and he grabs her by each side of her face. Wyn meets Jasper's eyes, suddenly forgetting how to breath as Nigel leads Eliza to her room to grant their 'parents' alone time.

           Jasper kisses Wynonna passionately, and she whimpers at the feeling of Jasper's cold lips against her own. She stumbles back a little and enjoys the kiss.

           Jasper and Paul actually got along this morning during the doctor's appointment. They were real civil and it made Wynonna happy.

              Wynonna is held up by Jasper when she stumbles and Jasper deepens the kiss before he pulls away sharply and he backs away as far as he possibly can and he stares at his bloodsinger in awe.

              Wynonna leads Jasper upstairs and they lay in Nona's bed. They just stare at each other in silence before Jasper goes to get the kids in bed. Wyn smiles as Adam moves around and she rolls onto her right side and closes her eyes, even though sleep takes forever to come along.
