Chapter 43: Proposal

Bella's pregnancy has progressed, her life is slipping away, too. Wynonna hasn't been around her much, she can't watch her cousin die. It hurts way too much. She loves Bella and she hates that she's dying. But she gets it. If she were pregnant and it would kill her but the baby lives? She'd more than willingly die for the baby to live.

Jacob finally left Sam's pack, Seth and Leah followed him for two reasons: to get away from Sam and his dictatorship and to be with their imprints in Forks. Jacob didn't want them to follow, but they didn't listen. Their imprints being in Forks made them way too determined to argue with otherwise.

Wynonna hands Bella a glass while Emmett, Carlisle, and Esme go to find more blood for Bella. It helps keep her pulse up because the baby's hungry. Or the thing as Jacob calls it.

Jacob comes inside after distracting Paul, Sam, and Jared. Paul told Wyn he wanted to take some time away from Adam until all of this drama is over, he doesn't want to risk losing his temper and phasing and hurting his son. He'd hate himself if he would ever do such a thing.

"Hey, are you okay?" Bella asks Jake as Alexander rocks Adam, cooing down at the nearly two month old baby.

"Yeah. It's not like I'm carrying a demon," Jacob replies.

"This is pretty important, Bella," Rosalie says. "Why don't you tell Jacob what you've decided..

"What now?" Jacob asks.

"Rosalie is trying to talk Bella out of baby names," Edward replies.

"She hates them," Bella adds.

"Well, then I'm om your side job matter what you've picked," Jacob says, making Wynonna rolls her eyes.

"They're not that bad," Bella claims. "If it's a boy, EJ. Edward Jacob."

"Okay, fine, that one's not awful," Rosalie says sarcastically. "Why don't you tell him the girl name?"

"I was playing around with our moms' names," Bella claims. "Renee and Esme. And I was thinking.... Renesme."

"Renesme," Jacob repeats.

"Too weird?" Bella asks.

"No, it's not too weird. It's beautiful," Edward claims. "And it's unique, which certainly fits the situation. I like Renesme."

"He likes it," Bella says to Rosalie in a confident voice.

Bella goes to take a drink of the blood Wyn Gabe her and suddenly, her back snaps. Wynonna throws her webs out and catches Bella before she lands on the floor. Edward thanks Wyn quickly before they hurriedly get her to the den.

Wynonna grabs the morphine and she passes it to Edward as Alice comes rushing in on the phone.

"Carlisle says the placenta has to detach," Alice states as Edward injects Bella with morphine. "He's coming as fast as he can, but..."

"We'll have to do it," Rosalie says ans she grabs the scalpel to cut Bella's stomach.

"Rose!" Edward yells. "Let the morphine spread."

"There's no time," Rosalie says quickly. "He's dying."

"Get him out now!" Bella yells as Wyn tries getting her to loom at her, stroking her face affectionately and holds her hand as Rosalie cuts into Bella's abdomen.

"Bella, Bella, look at me," Wynonna urges, Jacob watches them painfully. "Bella, look at me, I know it hurts, breathe through it."

Instead of breathing, Bella is screaming in pure agony. The sight of blood distracts Rosalie, and she stares at it - her eyes darkening. Edward shoves her aside and Wynonna drags Rosalie out of the room, knowing she won't be able to handle being in there much longer without pouncing.

Wynonna goes upstairs and she picks up her son, rocking him back and forth as Bella does downstairs. Jasper wraps his arms around his blood singer and he turns her around before he gets down on one knee. Wyn's eyes widen as she quickly but carefully lays Adam on the bed and covers her mouth.

"Wynonna Ryder, I love you and I have loved you ever since I first laid eyes in you and then fell even more in love when I first saw your abilities and saw how good of a mom you are," Jasper says as he gazes up at his blood singer. "And I will love you forever, no matter what you s you next. Wynonna James Ryder, will you marry me?"

"Yes! Yes! A million times yes!" Wynonna exclaims. "Yes, I'll marry you!"

Jasoer slides the beautiful engagement ring onto Wynonna's finger and he stands, capturing Wynonna's lips with his own.
