Chapter 27: Welcoming or Unwelcoming?

               Wynonna wakes up feeling a familiar coldness. Wyn turns her head and she sees Rosalie sitting there, flipping through a car part manual, looking completely bored out of her pretty mind.

             Rosalie glances over at Wynonna and she nods in greeting, knowing better than to speak. She gets why Wynonna is probably upset. They left and now they are back without a warning. Wynonna reaches up and she touches Rosalie's face, Rosalie bites her tongue to keep from grinning.

           Once realizing she's real, Wynonna actually embraces Rosalie tightly. Rose drops the manual and she hugs Wyn back immediately, rocking her from side to side in a welcoming embrace.

             Wyn, without speaking a word, grabs Rosalie's hand and places it on her stomach. Adam shifts his foot immediately, Rosalie's golden/brown eyes widen in shock and amazement at the feeling.

           "What's his name gonna be?" Rosalie asks, finally finding the urge to use her voice.

              "Adam Enrique Ryder," Wynonna replies, making the vampires downstairs freeze. "After my dad and his father's dad." She suddenly giggles.

           Rosalie smiles at the sound. "What?"

          "I get dumped by a vampire and knocked up by a wolf," Wynonna claims. "All this... wow. Thr life I've come to live in now."

          Rosalie smirks. "Right?"

         Wynonna remembers something and she looks at Rosalie. "Nigel knows."
  
           "How in the hell does that sweet boy know?" Rosalie asks.

            "My darling cousin took my son to a meadow to see it and Laurent was there," Wynonna says. "Sam and I agreed to tell him, he saw it and he was shaking he was so horrified because of Laurent."
    
             "And how'd Nigel take it?" Rosalie asks as Emmett begins walking up the stairs.

           "He loves the pack, but he misses you guys," Wynonna says and she pulls out a folded picture. "He drew this for me on my birthday."

             It's the picture of her, Jasper, Nigel, and Eliza. Rosalie studies is and she smiles. She stands and she walls around the bed before extending her hand as Emmett enters the room, casually leaning against the doorway. Wyn nods at him and she exits the room with Rose.

          Esme hugs Wynonna first thing while Rosalie goes to show Jasper the picture that Nigel drew Wyn for her birthday. Wynonna hugs Esme back and then she hugs Carlisle. And Emmett, last.

              Wynonna stops when she's standing in front of Jasper. She stares him in the eyes for what seems like every before drawing her hand back, and living the dead out of him so much so, Jasper feels the hurt when Wyn does not.

           She turns to Rosalie. "Where's Alice and Edward? They're the only two I have yet to see."

          "Italy," Rosalie replies. "Bella, too."

           Wynonna rolls her eyes. "I haven't spoken to Bella since she took my son into the woods, beautiful meadow or not."

                "And this is why I love you," Rosalie smirks. "When's baby Ryder due?"

            "Sometime in August," Wynonna replies as she touches her stomach, not glancing at Jasper. "I'm excited."

               "Where are my kids?" Emmett asks as he comes back downstairs.

               "At a funeral for a rez elder in La Push," Wynonna replies. "Harry Clearwater died, unfortunately. He was reaching me how to hunt and fish."

             Emmett smirks. "I'm a Tennessee boy, i can teach you."

             Wynonna steps outside and she looks out into the trees. She wanted to go to Harry's funeral but she won't do anything to risk miscarrying. Stress is a high factor, and she can't lose Adam. She just can't. He's her life support, him, Nigel, and Eliza.

            "Wyn," Jasper breathes as he steps outside. "I'm sorry... for leaving."

            Wynonna closes her eyes and she leans her head back as she feels cold hands rest on her hips and pulls her back against a rock hard chest. Jasper buries his nose into the crease of Nona's neck and he inhales deeply, inhaling the scent he has been craving since he left with the coven.

             Jasper grips on to the tank top Wynonna's wearing as the scent intoxicated him so much, he literally has to throw himself across the yard. He stares up at her with dark eyes as Alexander steps out, and stands beside Wynonna.

               Wynonna leaves the house shortly after Jasper goes to hunt and she heads to Sue's for the wake. She hugs Leah nightly as soon as she sees her and Seth joins in for a group hug. Both of the Clearwater kids are crying over the death of their father.

                  Nigel and Eliza come walking up, Eliza is rubbing her eyes tiredly. She apologizes for Leah and Seth's loss before she leaves with the kids. She drives them home and she gets them to bed and someone knocks on the door.

              Wynonna opens the door, knowing that it's Esme. She lets her in and they sit on the couch to catch up.
