Chapter 32: A bonfire

                  Eliza is sitting on a log with Claire, Nigel is sitting in between Paul and Leah. Everyone is gathered around a fire pit, sitting on lots, in the backyard of Billy and Jacob's house.

            Billy is sitting at the head of the circle, elder Quil amd sue on either side of him. When Harry passed away, his wife took his place on the rez council.

            When Jacob shows up with Bella, Seth runs over and Eliza is quick to follow - making the pack chuckle as Seth grins, and he picks up his imprint. Quil is glad he's not the only one who imprinted on a kid. They can be like brothers to them.

              "The Quiluetes have been a small tribe since the beginning," Billy begins, Nigel leans against Leah as Seth holds Eliza, everyone gathered around the fire once again. "But we've always had magic in our blood. We were great spirit warriors... Shape shifters, that transform into the powerful wolf. This enabled us to scare off our enemies, and protect our tribe. One day, our warriors came across a creature."

           "It looked like a man, but it was hard like stone, and cold as ice. Our warriors' sharp teeth finally tore it apart... but only fire would completely destroy it. They lived in fear, the Cold Man was not alone. And they were right. She took her vengeance out on the village. Our elder chief, Taha Aki, was the only spirit warrior left to save his tribe, after his son was killed."

            "Taha Aki's third wife could see that he would lose. So she pulled out a knife and she runs toward the Cold Woman. The third wife was no magical being, no special powers, but one... courage. She plunged the knife into her chest, the blood catching the attacker's attention."

           "The third wife's sacrifice distracted the Cold Woman, long enough for Taha Aki to destroy her. She saved the tribe. Over time, our enemies have disappeared. But one remains... the Cold Once's. Our magic awakes when they near. And we sense it, we feel the threat in our blood. Something terrible is coming. And we must all be ready for it."

           "Paul?" Nigel says as he is going to Sam's with the pack and Eliza, Wyn is going to see Jasper.

         "What is it, bud?" Paul asks as they sit on the couch.

         "Will Adam be a wolf like you?" Nigel asks.

         "When he's older, yeah," Paul replies. "He'll have a lot of growing to do first though, bud."

           "Oh," Nigel mutters. "I wish I could turn into a wolf. That would be cool."

           Paul smirks. "It is pretty cool. Wanna spend the day with the pack tomorrow? Sue's picking Eliza up, but...."

         "Yeah!" Nigel replies quickly, cutting Paul off. "I wanna spend tomorrow with the pack. Just don't do what Bella did..."

           "Don't worry, I won't," Paul muses. "Can't have your mom hating me, can I?"

           "No," Nigel smiles, "you can't."

               Jasper and Wynonna lay in the bed the empath bought, both naked. Jasper's lower half is under a blanket and there is a thin sheet covering Wyn.

          She came to Jasper, and saw that he was home alone. The others were hunting. Jas knew Wyn was coming to visit and then... things lead to this, them being naked together and in physical activity.

             "I'm so proud of you," Wynonna says as she rolls over to her side and faces Jasper, a hand on her stomach. "You didn't attack me."

            Jasper hums and he kisses her once on the lips. "I wasn't even tempted. That was... amazing."

         "And unexpected," Wynonna adds and Jasper nods in agreement. "But amazing above all else."

             Wynonna cuddles up to her cold boyfriend and she closes her eyes, she sleeps good for the first time since before he left.
