It was time. The sun had set. I stood at the edge of the cliff and jumped, I felt the wind run through my hair, I snapped open my wings and soared upwards sharply, I felt...free, but it was short lived. Before I knew it the silence was destroyed, the uneven flapping of many other wings filled the air. I looked behind me and saw the faces of several ravagers. They shrieked and sped up to try and catch me, I dove straight down and did a sharp left turn, they wouldn't give up. One of them caught up to me and latched onto my left wing, I beat furiously as we fell, plummeting towards the ground. I finally managed to free my wing and soar out of the way as the ravager plummeted into the ground below with a satisfying squelch that reassured me that it had died. I breathed a sigh of relief and then had to duck out of the way as a second one lunged towards me, I used its momentum and threw my arms around it and strangled it. I had to get out of there, "give us the scroll," the remaining five ravagers said in unison, "NEVER," I replied. They all lunged toward me as one, I threw off two of them as they grabbed my feet and tried to drag me out of the sky, I flapped my wings as hard as I could while holding the scroll case as close and as tight as possible. I shot up like a rocket, I flew as high as I possibly could, I couldn't let them get the scroll. After about an hour of flying, ducking, diving I finally managed to lose them, and, most importantly the scroll was safe and sound, and still in its protective casing. I flew for the rest of the night until I found a cave that looked safe enough to hide and get a few hours sleep. The next day I woke up to...voices...I quickly got up, snuffed out the fire, grabbed the scroll and hid behind some rocks.
