The days before the end

It had been four days since I had found Calib and now he was living with us, with the permission of King Lewis and King Owin of course. The past few days had been frantic, there were people running around like crazy. The soldiers were on high alert and the citizens of Roch were all nervous and frightened.

Calib had been was very happy and had even started calling James and I Mummy and Daddy, which we didn't mind. Ava would start teasing us when he did though, we quickly shut her up by reminding her that, her and Lucinda were going to be his aunts.

It was dinner time ans James approached me and gave me a strange little box. I had no clue what was in it of course, but Ava and Lucinda obviously knew as they were smiling like crazy and were hardly containing their excitement.

I opened the box and there were two rings with a note. I stared at the rings in awe for about a minute before unfolding the note, James just stood there awkwardly. The note said:

Morgen, I have loved you since the day we met,  i have found that I can't stop thinking about you. I love the way you make me feel, I love how your hair flows down your back like golden waves, I love how you can be so careful and caring, yet in battle you turn into a raging, skilful warrior. Everytime you look at me I can't help but stare into your piercing eyes, no matter how much anger or worry is in them. Because of you, I have found out many things about myself. Before I met you, I felt like an insignificant person, but now, I feel like I can do anything as long as you're around. Please accept this promise ring.

I stared at the note in my hand, then I stared at the box in my lap.

"YES," I yelled, throwing a huge hug around James, my wings rising slightly.

James  wrapped his arms around me, we had sayed like that for about a minute before we realised that everyone was staring at us.

"I'm confused," king Lewis had stated blankly.

"Me too," King Owin admitted, "What's going on,"

James and I ignored them, he released me and bent over to grab the box that was lying my now empty seat. He  slipped the silver ring onto my finger before sliding the other onto his own finger. The two king finally understood and stared at us, their mouths were open in surprise.

James had wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer, I felt him lean towards me. His lips had come in contact with mine and I felt myself melting in his arms. He released me so that I could breathe and we just stood there, unaware of everything else around us.

Calib broke us out of our trance by asking if he could have some help with his steak. I quickly came to my senses and switched to mother mode. I cut his steak into small pieces so that he wouldn't choke on.

"YASSSSSSSSSS," Ava exclaimed excitedly. James, Lucinda, the kings, Calib and I all looked at her.

Ava was standing on her chair yelling "I KNEW IT I KNEW I KNEW IT,". King Lewis had asked her what was going on and her answer was: "James was going to propose to Morgen,".

My face had gone bright red and James was explaining to her that it was a promise ring, not a wedding ring.
