The forbidden Scroll (explanations part 2)

We had found another cave a bit further down and had set up camp for the night. "Do either of you know about something called the forbidden scroll?" I asked. 

"No, what is it," Ava asked, "I've heard...stories...about it,but that's all" James admitted. "Well then, I guess it's time I tell you about my past", I said with a sigh.

 That night I told them everything, from the fact that everyone used to have elemental abilities to the fact that while I was being trained at the temple, we were attacked by the ravagers and I was told to take the scroll and protect it with my life. 

"So, the reason you have wings is because you are the guardian of the forbidden scroll and those THINGS are actually called ravagers, and they attacked us because they're after the forbidden scroll. And the reason you were picked to be trained as a guardian was because you somehow still possess elemental powers, there also used to be a whole lot more people with elemental abilities until the RAVAGERS attacked and you were told to protect the scroll," James exclaimed while looking shocked, "and the reason you haven't used your power around us is because you didn't want us knowing, plus you don't usually use the scroll unless it's an emergency because if the scroll is used to much it could turn you evil," Ava continued, she also looked shocked. "Sorry I didn't tell you sooner...it's just...," I trailed off. "It's just...what," James asked, still shocked, "to be honest, I wasn't exactly sure if I could trust you guy's to not steal the scroll," I answered. 

Ava and James looked at each other, then Ava said, "it's ok, you were just cautious," I breathed a sigh of relief "besides I wouldn't trust two strangers that I had recently met with that sort of stuff either," James added.

That night, we all shared things about our life. It turns out that the reason they were going to the kingdom of Roch was because Ava had an arranged marriage with the prince of Roch, James was simply tagging along because their father wanted him to see what a royal wedding looked like, James was the younger of the 2. 

I also told them my real reason for going to the kingdom of Roch. "I'm going to the kingdom of Roch because I need to warn them about the rising threat of The Ravagers," I explained "I also need a proper sword, and Roch has been the place where the protectors of the forbidden scroll always go, for their first sword," I continued "it's actually become a tradition,". We talked about a lot of things, we shared fighting techniques and I ended up showing and explaining my fire powers to them.

"Hey, um, quick question," James asked me "sure," I replied "shoot it,", "Well," James started "is it possible to LEARN how to use an elemental ability,".

 I froze. "um-I-I -ah I-I I guess so," I replied. "I-I mean, no ones actually tried to, the only people who are taught are the people that already have elemental abilities or show signs of elemental abilities,". James looked at me and said "could...could you maybe try and teach me how to use an elemental ability,". I was shocked. "I don't know if it's possible, but I can try,"
