The forbidden Scroll

The forbidden scroll (the attack)

We had come to an intersection, one route leading through a forest and the other leading through open grassland. Both of them would lead to The Kingdom Of Roch. I was weary of both as the forest would have plenty of cover but would also provide many areas for Ravagers to hide while the other route would lead away from the forest meaning that there would be no places for the Ravagers to hide, but would also leave us exposed if they did attack. 

We all decided that the open grassland would probably be best as it would also mean that if we WERE attacked, no would get lost. We had been walking for a long time and it was almost dark when I heard the all too familiar sound of flapping wings. I quickly turned around to see about eight-teen Ravagers flapping their wings ferociously as they sped towards us at non human speeds, "RUN!," I screamed as we all started sprinting in the opposite direction. Before we knew it they were right behind us, I just managed to dodge a claw as it tried to grab me and pull me back. I had no choice, I had to protect Ava and James. Even if it meant exposing myself. I quickly snapped open my wings and flung myself into the air, I did a quick loop the loop as I turned towards the approaching Ravagers. I dived straight down and slammed into a Ravager that was about to try and strangle Ava. They stared at me in shock as I jumped in front of them to block a punch from another ravager, I ignored their stares and swiftly threw a fire ball at another.

 I had to knock James out the way because a ravager was about to stab him, I helped him up but didn't see another ravager sprinting up beside me until it knocked me about five metres to the left. I was dazed. My vision was slightly blurry as I lifted my head off of the ground to see the rest of the ravagers circling around Ava and James, "give us the scroll," the ravagers all said in unison. 

Well I thought if it's the scroll they want, it's the scroll they'll get. I slid my hand towards the scroll that was safely concealed in a secret pocket in my cloak, I stood up and lifted the lid off of the scrolls ebony wood protective casing. I felt my fingers tingling as they lightly brushed the edge of the scroll, I could feel the power surging through my hands. " IF IT'S THE SCROLL YOU WANT, COME AND GET IT," I yelled at the ravagers, they all turned around and started running towards me, but, I was ready. It was almost as if the world slowed down for a moment as I dodged a kick from a ravager at lightning speed, It lost its balance and fell over. I landed a blow on the neck of another one, breaking it and killing it instantly. A little more dodging, punching and kicking later, the fight was finished and there was a pile of dead ravagers around me. I was panting as I slipped the lid back onto the scroll. Ava and James rushed over to me, "HOW DID YOU DO THAT,HOW DID YOU SHOOT FIRE FROM YOUR HANDS," james exclaimed, "WHY DO YOU HAVE WINGS," Ava interrupted.
