Ravagers

I opened my eyes and found myself lying on the ground, my leg was trapped under a load of debri. My vision was blurry and I could hear a ringing noise. I could hear screaming and crying. With a massive amount of effort, I managed to lift my head.

Calib was huddled in a corner. James, Ava and Lucinda were in front of him, swords raised and elemental abilities activated. King Owin was trying to evacuate the Maids and servants while King Lewis was just standing there astonished. He was staring at James and Ava, obviously confused about why his children had elemental abilities, he was even more shocked that they were fighting a Ravager.

I quickly came to my senses and blasted a stream of fire at the rocks that had trapped my leg. As soon as I was free, I snapped open my wings and went into hyper-speed. I rammed into the side of the ravager, knocking it off balance. Ava quickly froze it in a block of solid ice.

We barely had time to catch our breath before another Ravager came rocketing through the ceiling. I pulled out my sword, and thrust it threw the Ravagers chest before it could try and kill us.

"WHAT THE--," King Lewis started, before he could finish his sentence, he was interrupted by King owin.

"FUCK, I guess you weren't kidding when you said that we would only have a few days to prepare,". King Owin had his hands on his head and was in obvious distress.

"H-H-How," King Lewis stuttering and pointing at James and Ava, "Y-you have e-elemental abilities.....what,".

I winced as I ran over to where the two king were standing.

"Please forgive me your highnesses, but I thought it would be better if the young heirs had some sort of way to protect themselves against Ravagers," I said while bowing apologetically.

Before the kings could speak A massive explosion shook the remains off the castle.

"We need to hurry and get out of here," James yelled running up to me, "This place is gonna collapse any second now,". Lucinda, Ava and I all looked at him and nodded in agreement. 

"Alright," I said, Taking control of the situation, "Lucinda, Ava, I need you two to create a healing tent in a more sheltered part of the kingdom, try near the waterfall on the far side,". The two of them nodded and ran in the direction of the waterfall, blasting ravagers out of the sky in the process.

"James," I said, turning my head towards him, "Your with me in the battlefield, you need to take the streets and fight from the ground, If you can't defeat the Ravagers at least try to hold them back. Head to the guard in charge and inform him that there is now a healing station of the south side of the kingdom,".

James turned and started to run towards where the fight was heaviest. I looked at him, for some reason, I didn't want him to go, I wanted to grab him and Calib and just fly them somewhere safe. James stopped and spun around to look at me, I looked back at him and our eyes met. He suddenly bolted towards me and pulled me closer by the waist. His lips met mine, He put his hands around my waist protectively and I lifted my hands up so they were wrapped around the back of his neck.

He slowly pulled away and whispered in my ear, "Stay safe ok, I don't want to lose you,". I unwrapped my hands from around his neck and pulled him in so that I could whisper in his ear, "Don't worry about me, We'll get through this,". He slowly backed away and looked at me before running of to the fight.

I turned to face Calib, King Lewis and King Owin had already headed to the fight to join in with the fight. I sighed and knelt down next to the child, he was in tears. He quickly hugged me and sobbed, "I-I don't w-want to l-leave you," He said, his face full of tears.
