James was alert before I knew it and we were creeping out of the cave. My wing was almost fully healed and I decided that I wanted to show James the world from my view.
We had been walking for about an hour and a half before we got to the top of a cliff that overlooked the castle. The sun had just started to rise and the kingdom of Roch was half illuminated in the soft orange morning light. It was beautiful. The wind was also strong here, which was good.
"Do you trust me," I said, turning to james. He looked at me and nodded before saying "with my life,". I grabbed his arms and slowly walked backwards to the edge of the cliff, James looked at me as if questioning my actions. I ignored it.
I opened my wings and let the air catch them, pulling the two of us off the edge of the cliff with a sharp jolt. James let out a slight scream as our feet left the ground, I pulled him in closer to me until he ended up on 'standing' on my feet. I flapped my wings in a strong, smooth upward motion which sent us shooting up through the clouds.
James gripped me tight and slowly turned to look at where we were. I felt him relaxing as I opened my wings and let the wind drafts keep us afloat in the sky. We were there for a while before I decided that I would take us back to the cave for breakfast.
I tucked my wings in until they closed around us, holding James in tight, we dived down, shooting through the clouds, down the cliff face, we kept diving until we could see the ground rushing towards us. James started to freak out a bit, I ignored it.
At the last minute I flung open my wings and the sudden drag pulled us out of the dive, we rocketed through the town.
