I pulled Calib closer to me and hugged him, "I Would never leave you on purpose," I said, picking up the sobbing boy, "Besides you would never be alone, you would always have someone,". I knew it wasn't safe for him hear, I had to get him to safety first. "How about you get on my back so I can get you somewhere safe, Ok," I said. Calib nodded. I turned around so that he could climb on.

Once Calib was holding on securely I took a running start and threw us into the air, My wings beat steadily as we sped towards the waterfall, I knew that Ava and Lucinda would be there already and would probably have some sort of structure up to serve as a healing station.

I did a quick aerial surveillance of the area  and landed in a clearing about a meter away from the initial waterfall. I spotted Lucinda standing guard next to some sort of giant Ice tent that was half concealed by the water fall. Calib clambered off my back and I grabbed his hand and rushed him over to Lucinda.

"Morgen, what are you doing here," Lucinda asked me, then she noticed Calib who was constantly looking at the sky with terrified glances.

"I know this is short notice, but I need you to look after Calib so that I can fight without worrying that he's going to get hurt," I answered, "Beside, It's not safe for him anywhere else,".

"No need to ask, besides, I'm pretty much his aunt," Lucinda said. I looked at her gratefully and turned to Calib, who was behind me and trying to hide in my wings.

"Your going to stay with Aunty Lucinda and Ava for a little bit, ok," I said. Calibs eyes started to tear up, I hugged him before handing him to Lucinda. He looked at me and said something that made my heart stop for a moment, "P-Promise that y-you w-won't die,".

I paused for a moment, knowing that I was making a promise that I possibly wouldn't be able to keep, "Promise,". Calib looked down, as if he didn't believe me. I sighed and reached a hand towards my right wing, I plucked one of my primary feathers, wincing in the process. I handed it to Calib, he took it and held it close, It looked massive because of the way he was holding it.

"This will keep you safe alright, always keep it with you," I said, ruffling Calibs hair.
