The forbidden Scroll

The forbidden Scroll (Calib)

I knelt down till I was level with the kid before quickly examining the bruises and and cuts all over his arms, legs, hands and feet. The kid kept holding on to me and sobbing on my shoulder, he appeared to be between the ages of four and six.

"shh, shh," I said holding him close, I wrapped my arms around him and sat there for about a minute before I decided to ask him what his name was.

"can you tell me your name," I asked him quietly.

He sniffed and wiped his eyes before saying, "m-my n-name is calib,".

I wrapped my arms around him before saying, "well, my names morgen, but you can call me hatever you want,  I'll look after you from now on,". 

I looked up and noticed that the sun was starting to come up, I picked Calib up and helped him onto my back before turning away from the battle . I flapped my wings and before we knew it the two of us were gliding above the rooftops of the kingdom of Roch. There were very few people in the streets below as the it was still dark and there was only a sliver of sunlight illuminating the dull houses and trading areas. 

A few people looked up and nodded to me as I flew past them, I politely nodded back. Calib was curled up on my back in between my wings and he seemed to be sleeping. 

It wasn't long before we got back to the lookout cave, Ava had insisted that it had a name so 'the cave' was now called 'FPLA', which was short for, 'first post lookout area'. It was a terrible name but I didn't exactly have a say in it, they were royals after all and it was kinda funny seeing Ava's 'amazing' naming skills.

I landed outside the FPLA and turned around to make sure that I wasn't followed, Calib hopped down from my back and held my hand as we approached the entrance to the FPLA. Ava, Lucinda and James were already up and making breakfast, even though the sun wasn't even up yet.

They turned around and faced me as we came around the corner,

 James rushed over to me and hugged me before saying, "don't you ever go anywhere without telling me again,"

I hugged him back before explaining, "I couldn't sleep so I decided to o for a quick fly, sorry for worrying you,".

we ended up hugging for a while, I decided that I would tell them about calib as it was obvious that they hadn't noticed him yet.

Before I could say anything Calib suddenly piped up and said, "w-who are t-they,".

James, Lucinda and Ava all twisted there heads to look at Calib in suprise.
