The forbidden Scroll (scenery and ambush)

"And that is why we call this place, The Sheiking Forest," Lucinda finished, we had come to a forest that had pine tree's almost everywhere. Lucinda was starting to tell us some tales about The Shrieking Forest when a familiar feeling swept over me.

 "Hate to interrupt, but we need to hide, NOW" I said as polietley as I could, "but,'' Lucinda started, Ava didn't let her finish, she knew what I meant, so did James. We sprinted towards a massive pine tree, Ava was practically dragging Lucinda. 

We just managed to take cover when three ravager's descended from the sky. Lucinda's eyes went wide, Ava had to cover her mouth with her hand to stop Lucinda from screaming. We all held our breath as the three of them started looking around, they full on flipped rocks out of the earth, they turned to each other and started talking in some sort of weird language, it kind of sounded like something a child would make up.

All of a sudden all three of them turned towards the place that we were hiding, I felt my hand slipping towards my sword. 

The ravagers ripped the tree out of the ground, then, chaos. James ignited his hands and the two of us charged at the ravagers, James sent a stream of fire at one of them, it hit them straight in the face.

 I drew my sword, spun around and felt my blade connect with the neck of a second, ripping it clean from the creature's neck. 

James and I cornered the last against the trunk of another large tree. For some reason it started grinning, then the third ravager leaped into the air and spread its wings. I swiftly did the same, we were locked in a sky duel, sword on claws, wing on wing. The ravager swept it's claws towards me, I felt them hit their target, my wing.

 I grimaced in pain as a massive rip appeared in my left wing. The The muscles in my wing had a massive tearing pain in them. I used what little strength I had left to thrust my sword through the creature's chest, it fell out of the sky and landed with a satisfying thump. My vision went blurry, the last thing I remember was James shouting out to Ava and Lucinda to help. After that everything went black.
