James, Ava and I were all escorted down a long corridor and taken to a room with two beds, they had silken sheets and there was a single large stained glass window lighting the room with many colours.
It was rather breathtaking, or it was until Ava said "oh no, it looks like there's only two beds,", she had a very sly smirk when she said "looks like you two will have to share,". I swear I could have killed her right there and then.
About three hours later we had all cleaned ourselves up and changed into the clothes provided. It felt good to have my wings clean and clear of dirt and mud. We had all changed into clean clothes, Ava in a short aqua dress, her hair swept into a neat bun. James was wearing a long, trench-coat like, red suit, to be honest he looked kinda ridiculous. I was given a new set of lightweight armour and a cloak with the guardian symbol emblazoned in the center, there were also two heat-activated flexibility holes in the back of the armour for my wings. It felt so good to not have to hide them.
We were summoned to the main hall for dinner about an hour later. "FOOD," James exclaimed, "OH honestly james," Ava called after him, "can't you think about anything other than food,".
I couldn't help but giggle, I knew that James liked food, but I didn't expect that. Ava and I had just reached the dining hall, which was full of guests from other kingdoms, James had already tucked into a chicken drumstick and a pork chop.
King Lewis and King Owin were talking, it kind of sounded like they were planning some sort of royal wedding.
