I woke up on the bed, James sleeping on a chair next to me. I sat up, but immediately regretted it as pain erupted all through my back, wings and head.
"Ow," I winced, James suddenly woke up and pretty much tackled me with a hug. "That hurts a bit," I said as he squeezed me tighter. "Oh, right," he said, quickly pulling back, "I kinda forgot, sorry,".
"It's ok," I said quickly "besides, i'm not dead, am I,". We both laughed. Then I remembered why I was in pain.
"THE RAVAGERS, IS EVERYONE OKAY, DID THEY GET THE SCROLL," I yelled, "shhh," James said, "everyone's ok, the scroll is safe, it's right here, the only person you should be worrying about is yourself,".
I breathed a quick sigh of relief and grabbed the scroll out of his outstretched hand and tucked it back in the cloak that I was wearing. "what do you mean I should be more worried about myself," I asked.James looked uncomfortable and took a deep breath before saying "Morgen, you sprained your wing pretty bad, there's also a massive tear in the flesh between your wing joints". "your kidding, right," I asked, I couldn't believe it, after all the attacks that I had faced, all the ravager attacks that I had easily defended against, This was the one where I had been injured. I turned to look at my wing, there were a few stitches and some sort of makeshift sling was holding it in a certain position.
"Who changed me," I asked suspiciously. " 'Ava' did," James answered. A few hours later we were called to breakfast.
