The forbidden Scroll (almost)

"Why would you try to set me on fire," Ava exclaimed through a fit of half coughing half laughing. We had ended up having to drag her out of the water. "Your just lucky I didn't throw my fireball, cause I have an EXTREMELY accurate shot," I said after we had all gotten dry,

 "Yeah, yeah," she answered "we saw you hit one of those ravager things out of the air while you were falling out of the sky,".  "Can we PLEASE not talk about me falling out of the sky, NOT one of my proudest moments," I scowled at her, although I couldn't help smiling at the same time. "OH MY GOD," I heard her say. "What," I asked. "YOU can ACTUALLY SMILE," she said while laughing. "Yeah, yeah, very funny," I said in a mocking voice. That's when I sensed them.

I quickly eradicated any evidence of us being there and dragged both Ava and James over to a large boulder.

 "What are you do-," James started, I quickly put my hands up and said "SHH, ". Both Ava and James had just managed to shut up when three ravagers descended from the sky. It had been a stressful morning and I didn't really want James to start using his new powers until I could teach him how to control them, it was too risky. The scroll was safely tucked inside my it's special casing which I now had around my neck, I hadn't had a need to hide because Ava and James already knew about it. It felt like hours before the Ravagers took off. 

I silently let go a breath of relief that I didn't even know I was holding, we waited until the ravagers were out of sight. We then quietly crept out from behind the boulder. "We have to get to Roch NOW," I said with a stern and worried look. James and Ava both nodded their heads in agreement, "and James," I said "yeah," he replied with a questioning look. "We'll continue your training once we get to roch, that way we'll have the correct training grounds," I said. They agreed.

After that day we were a lot more cautious and tended to sleep in places where there would be more cover. We had been travelling for about three days and there hadn't been any Ravager sightings, which was strange. On the fourth day we spotted a road, this indicated a trade route. I, one again, had to hide my wings.

We had been traveling on the side of this road for a while now when I heard something coming along the road, I whipped around to see a severely beaten up carriage slowly coming towards us, the horse pulling the carriage looked beaten up and tired. "DAD," James and Ava yelled at the same time, they rushed towards the carriage while I cautiously followed.

An older man stepped out of the carriage and embraced both Ava and James in a hug. "We didn't think you made it out," Ava said through tears. "Well, I'm ok as you can see," the older man said, also crying. This went on for twenty minutes before he noticed me, "who are you," he demanded. Shit I thought, "This is morgen, she's been helping us get to roch," James explained. Phew, thanks James, I was relieved that James said something because this was a really awkward situation for me. Aw shit, I just realised, if James and Ava are royalty, and this is their dad, this means that he's a king. I quickly bowed. "Why are you bowing," he said "you've been making sure that my children have survived the outside world,". Ava and James groaned, "dAd," Ava complained "were not little kids anymore,". I couldn't help but smile at this, because she sure sounded like a little kid at this point.

We had all decided to camp there that night. "So, what's your reason for going to Roch," their dad asked. I froze, Ava and James knew why I couldn't tell him and I had already talked to James and told him that he couldn't tell his dad about his fire powers just yet. "I have.....business, to attend to," I replied, "it's actually more of a private matter," I added as it looked like the king was about to ask about what type of business it was. "Oh...very well then, hope it goes well for you," he said. "Hey dad," James asked, "yes," his dad replied. "Well,"James continued, "I was kinda hoping that we could maybe bring morgen with us,". We both looked at him, his dad shocked that he had asked and me shocked that he actually thought about me.
