"What's this all about, Mom?"

I wiped the corner of my mouth with a napkin and directly looked at her. Kanina pa umalis si Eros dahil nga sa meeting na kailangan niyang daluhan at kanina pa 'rin ako nangangating magtanong kung para saan ang presensya ni Ice dito.

Medyo nakakapagtaka pa nga na basta na lamang umalis ang lalaking iyon. It's the first time he didn't say goodbye to me. Well, not that I care okay. Nanibago lamang ako. Weird.

I tried my best to atleast let them finish their food first before I ask.

I rolled my eyes. I won't fall for that acts. "You and I very well know it wasn't your only agenda for inviting him. What's this for, Mom?"

She just laughed and took a sip on her wine glass. "You're overthinking, iha." Naiiling na aniya. "Anyway, you're single right?"

And there she goes. Akala ko ba ay nag ooverthink lang ako? I'm sure i'm not.

Tumango ako. "Yes. And I don't have plans on getting a boyfriend anytime soon." Agad kong pagdedeklara. I don't want this set up.

"Ganoon? I'm sure it will change overtime." Tatango tangong aniya. "Am I right, iho?" Ngayon ay lumingon siya kay Ice.

"We'll see, Tita." Nakangising ani naman nang isa.

Gustong gusto ko na silang barahin ngunit wala ako sa mood. I really thought i'll get to bond with my Mom tonight. I never expected she'll bring someone. And it's so obvious she's setting me up again. Nakakadisappoint.

"Oo nga pala, invite your Mom some other time Isiah, okay? I'm sure she'll be glad to see my daughter again." Nakangiti at mukhang excited pa si Mommy nang sabihin iyon.

Ako naman ngayon ang napangisi doon. "I'm sorry but that won't seem to happen, Mom."

Nilingon niya ako at nagtatakang tiningnan. "And why is that?"

"I never met his mother, Mommy. And she doesn't like me for her son." Nakangisi kong sagot saka nilingon si Ice. "You haven't told my Mom about that?"

He looked pale and I almost laugh. I'm sorry Ice. We're already friends right? And you very well know how I hate being set up to someone. Ayos sana tayo e kaso bakit nandito ka ngayon? You may be my friend but I still won't consider dating you again.

My mother gasped before she let out an awkward laugh. "What are you saying, Red? Who won't like you?"

"Red, what are you saying? Where did you hear about that nonsense?" Bulong sa akin ni Ice.

Umiling lamang ako at ngumisi. "Am I lying, Ice?" Balik kong tanong sa kaniya. Hindi siya nakasagot doon kaya si Mommy naman ang tiningnan ko.
