"Truthfully I thought you were going to go with someone else but I guess the universe has other plans for that."
I lightly knocked on Dumbledore's office door before I heard a faint, 'come in'.
I opened the door slowly and saw Dumbledore sitting at his desk completely focused. He took off his glasses and waved me over.
"Miss. Hartwood, come sit." He said as he motioned towards a chair. I sat down and leaned back in the chair comfortably.
"I know you don't know much about your parents, but they were good students here. They left me something before they passed and told me to give it to you when I saw you next. Sadly, I forgot about it until it occurred to me in a dream." He handed me a heavy velvet pouch. I opened it up to see a bunch of shining Galleons.
"This is mine?" I asked in utter disbelief.
"Yes, it is. I suggest you use it to buy a gown for the ball. You are going shopping today, right." I nodded and hurriedly stood up.
"Oh. Thank you by the way." I said gratefully as I closed the door behind me and ran to go find Tracey and tell her I was ready to go.
"What was it?" She said curiously as I held out the pouch to her. "Bloody hell. You'll have money to buy your dress now plus extra." She said shocked.
I nodded my head excitedly as we walked out of the castle to Hogsmeade.
-------
We walked down the snowy streets looking for the seamstress's shop. We passed students carrying large bags covering nicely tailored suits and gowns making me more and more excited.
When we finally came across the shop Tracey and I looked at each other and breathed in deeply before I opened the door and walked in, Tracey following behind me.
"Oh, Miss. Hartwood, Miss. Davis!" The old lady introduced how does she know out name. I didn't put too much thought into it since a lot of people knew everyone's name. She leads the two of us some stand and made us stand on them.
"Yule Ball? Correct?" She asked as she examined me and Tracey. We nodded our heads before she made a loud noise snapping her fingers. "I've got it!" She said excitedly. She brought out her wand and shot a colorful blast at each of us. We shoot completely still as fabric flew off the shelves and wrapped itself around us. I looked at what it was shaping up to be and it was a dark green color while Traceys was a light pink color.
All the commotion died down to reveal the gown.
whichever one you chose or one that you've made up :)
The seamstress looked at me and back down at the dress. "This had aught to be the best one I've made in a long time." She admired as she looked at the detail of it.
I loved every aspect of it.
We put the gowns in bags and paid for our stuff before we left. As we walked out of the store another group was entering. Draco's.
"What dress did you get Y/N? Rags don't count as a dress you know." Millicent remarked as she saw the two of us with bags.
"Whatever it is, it's going to be better than yours," I smirked back before pushing my way through. My eyes met with Draco's. His eyes filled with hatred as usual. I made a face at him which he returned as I stepped out of the warm store and back onto the snowy streets of Hogsmeade.
"Cedric, hey!" I exclaim as I see him hanging out with some of his typical friends.
"Hey, Y/N. See you went dress shopping. What'd you get?"
"It's a secret." I smile making him just roll his eyes.
"Fine fine. Well, you going with anyone?"
"Yeah shockingly enough. Blaise." I responded to him.
"Zambini?" I nodded giving him clarification even though he put an M in there somewhere. "Hmm. Odd choice."
"What's that supposed to mean?" I furrow my eyebrows playfully.
"Truthfully I thought you were going to go with someone else but I guess the universe has other plans for that." He patted me on my head and I moved out of the way flattening my hair down again.
"What's that supposed to mean?" I questioned. I was honestly really curious as to who else he thought would ask me.
"It's a secret." He mocked me making me slap him in the arm.
"You got a date yet?" I asked changing the subject.
"Actually yeah, Cho."
"Cho as in the one in my grade? Year, same thing." I caught myself from using my muggle terms.
"Yeah, that's the one." He said proudly. "Well good for you Ced. I'll see ya." I waved at him before heading back to Hogwarts with Tracey.
