"I didn't expect him to want to meet you but you're a pure-blood Slytherin."
Draco and I studied almost every day after school together. It all lead up to today. The day of the O.W.Ls. I knew I was prepared but it didn't change the fact that I didn't want to do it.
The other good part that I was really looking forward is to what Fred, George, and I had planned. We were going to start throwing the fireworks during them. Since Fred and George don't take their exams until after ours they'll get it started then throw me my broom and a crate of fireworks.
I walked into the silent Hall as chairs were lined in columns all the way until the back of the room. I found my seat on the Slytherin side and sat down, my robes hanging off the wooden chair.
After everyone had been seated, Umbridge started to pass out our test sheets. We all took our own quills to start working on them. I had been stalling on every question as I watched the swaying clock move back and forth. The longer I stared the longer the ticks seemed to span out.
Then it started to happen. A light tap came from outside the door. A small smile appeared on my lips as I watched Umbitch becoming uncomfortable with what was happening. She then walked over to the huge double dorms of the transformed Great Hall to see what was going on. She opened the door and a small ball of light came to her nose before choosing past her.
"Bloody hell," I muttered to myself. They pulled it off. Silenced filled the room and the hall before everything at once became a loud mess. The twins came flying in on their brooms, Fred carrying mine. He looked for me until he found me and dropped me my broom.
I jumped out of my seat, grabbed my broom, and shot off into the air with the twins. Examination papers flew everywhere as Fred and George were shooting off their Weasley's Wildfire Whiz-Bangs. George tossed me a few of them to shoot off. I flew over to where the center of the room was and shot off three.
They developed into huge bulbs of light and exploded letting the color sizzle to the floor. I then flew in random streaks around the room throwing them wherever I felt like it.
A grin formed over my face as I found where Draco and his friends were standing. I dropped one down letting it go between Crabbe and Goyle then to Draco. His face was historical and I died of laughter. He looked up to me smiling down at him. He flipped me off as he straightened out his robes.
The three of us came together to shoot of one big firework. It would turn into a dragon and ultimately chase Umbitch out of the room and it did just that. Her stupid rules shattered to pieces as she ran. Every student yelled and screamed in happiness, running out of the room to follow the three of us in the courtyard. We shot off more tiny fireworks until I let Fred and George do their own piece.
They shot off a firework that formed into a big W for Weasley's. I smiled at our success but never stopped shooting of the fireworks. Everyone down in the courtyard was cheering for us, thankful that someone finally did something to Umbridge.
We all met up in the air and high five each other.
"That was bloody brilliant," George said.
"I was thinking exactly the same thing." Fred and I said at the same time making us laugh.
We landed our brooms and got swarmed with people's hugs and thanks. I quickly moved out of the way and just watched from a distance. Lot's of people crowding around me are scary.
"Hey, meet me at the tree later." I knew it was Draco. He had said it as he passed by me. We had gotten really good at this.
-------
It was night time and I waited by the tree as Draco asked. I saw a patch of light hair in the darkness and knew it was him. He was running really fast like he was running from a werewolf or something.
"Y/N," He said as he approached, breathing heavily because of the speed he just ran.
"Yeah?" I asked holding in laughter at the scene.
"Don't hate me."
"Oh, bloody hell."
He stood up straight and took a long deep breath. "So I sent a letter to my father a couple of nights ago," I nodded my head trying to figure out where this was going. "and I might have mentioned you and he might want you to come to the manor to meet him and my mother." My entire soul seemingly froze at the words.
I tried talking but my mouth wouldn't let the words out.
"It won't be that bad... hopefully."
"Well, that's very encouraging thank you," I said sarcastically. "You told your parents but not your own friends?"
"Well have you told Theodore and Tracey?"
I shook my head proving his point.
"Draco, I- how am I supposed to do that? I've never been- I don't-" Words stopped making sense to me at that point.
"It just kind of slipped. I didn't expect him to want to meet you but you're a pure-blood Slytherin." I took deep breaths to calm me down.
I was nothing compared to the Malfoy's. They had at least one article in every newspaper and his father was of the highest power and got anything he wanted. They were rich, powerful, and knew how to present themselves.
I was none of those things. I was poor, had no parents, and hardly the best student in school.
I could just imagine it now-
'and what could she offer the family, Draco?'
'She-'
'Nothing. Tell her to get out.'My face was now drained of color.
"It's going to be fine. I'll walk you through some things, ok?" I didn't move or speak. Soon I felt arms wrap around me tightly. "I don't do this often so a thank you would be nice." He said into my hair as his chin rested on it.
"Thank you," I said without any emotion.
"Ok, sit down." I did but still had my eyes glued on one spot. "Look at me." He took two of his fingers under my chin and moved my head to where he was. "Some things you should know, My father is very, very rude at times. My mothers the complete opposite. I don't know who all is going to be there but I'd expect you to be prepared to see- well a lot."
"Draco. I can't meet your parents."
"Yeah, you can. And will. It's not up for discussion. My father's already made his decision." He said more sharply this time. "I'll send you a letter a little bit through summer with some galleons. Go out and buy a dress. Nothing bright. Preferably Black, Silver, or Green. Like I said it's not up to me. I'm just saying my father already knows who you are somehow and... well I want him to accept you." He said. I shot my eyes to meet his. We had been together for what? A month now? And I was already meeting his parents.
Somehow I got myself into this mess. I was dating the Prince of Slytherin. And about to meet the King and Queen.
