"I joined in just so I didn't feel left out but I didn't know what was going on."
Keep in mind Ron joined the Gryffindor team this year in the books :)
A week had passed. A week full of training for the match against Gryffindor that was taking place tonight. Although I wasn't playing I was still required to put on the jersey and be with the rest of the players to watch in case something happened.
Draco hadn't shut up about the match to anyone and how Slytherin was 'bound to win'. I didn't know though. Gryffindor was a strong team and I had caught on to the running theme that had been going on since I arrived in year three and maybe even longer. Gryffindor was the favorite and the teachers didn't seem to try and hide that fact.
I put on the green and silver robes and checked my reflection in the mirror as I tied my H/C hair into a ponytail (if possible). I sighed heavily before walking out of the locker room and into where the team was meeting.
"There she is," Graham said as he waved me over to join the rest of the team's huddle.
"Alright, we're playing against Gryffindor and we all know how that goes. They have a new team member on their team, Ron Weasley." Snickers broke out among the group. I didn't know what was funny but I put a smile on my face nonetheless.
Suddenly the team burst out into a quiet chant that escalated to laughs and whoops from the team.
Weasley cannot save a thing
He cannot block a single ring
That's why Slytherins all sing:
Weasley is our kingEveryone was cracking up in laughter. I joined in just so I didn't feel left out but I didn't know what was going on.
"Settle down, settle down," Graham said still breathing heavily from laughing. "Everyone ready to go?"
Cheers erupted around everyone agreeing in a yes.
"Alright let's go." Graham led the players out to where they would exit from leaving me alone in the area. "Oh shoot. Y/N, make sure to come out and watch the game. Might learn a little bit." He offered and I nodded my head.
I felt a presence brush up aside me before walking past.
"Good luck," I said to him.
"Won't need it." Draco snarked back. One day his cockiness is gonna hurt him.
The team got on their broomsticks and got prepped to leave. I could hear the faint cheers of the crowd. A smile spread across my lips as I escaped to find a seat close to the front. I found one on the edge of the field. Apparently, Graham had it reserved for me and Draco so whoever wasn't playing the game could see it still. I appreciated it.
I watched as the match was started. My eyes flickered to every player to watch their figure zoom through the sky in opposing directions.
The Slytherin team was chanting the chant that everyone had done in the locker room. The Gryffindors didn't seem to like it very much and I felt a little bad. Ron was some of my best friends brother. Speaking of...
I searched the air for the twins and I found them flying around. They don't have moments where they're serious often but this was one of those times. It was a bit odd but I looked past it.
Suddenly I saw Draco shift his focus entirely and zoom towards something that looked invisible but I knew what he was after. He had found the snitch. My heart started beating quicker in anticipation and the thought that he could've been right. Maybe Slytherin will beat Gryffindor for once.
