"Bloody hell. Harry was right about you too."
Months had passed. Draco reminded me every day that he was right. And that we'd be ok. The repetition almost made me believe it. Until today when everything decided to fall back apart. The ground that held Draco and I started to crack.
It started, as usual, waking up for breakfast then lunch. Eating with Death Eaters and Draco. I didn't consider either of us a Death Eater. We had a tattoo. That didn't make us anything more than two teens with tattoos.
The table was silent except for the clatter of silver against the bowls and plates and small talk. I stayed silent. Draco stayed silent.
Lunch was decent until Bellatrix peeked her head around the corner. I hadn't even realized she hadn't eaten with us.
"May I borrow Y/N for a moment?" Her voice as high pitched as normal. Annoying. Narcissa nodded and I stood up, taking the napkin off my lap and on the long table. I followed Bellatrix out. "We have some new arrivals today. I wanted to show you first." She said cheerily before skipping down the hallway.
I had to lengthen my strides to keep a good pace with her. I had learned to just go with the things they told me too. To stop overthinking everything and stop fighting back. Part of me wanted to give up; it would be easier.
We reached the main double doors where two other death eaters were there to greet us. They said their hellos then Bellatrix placed a hand on each of the doors and pressed on them, opening them up. The cool air brushed my hair behind me.
We stepped forward and I followed. Bellatrix took the lead and ushered me to stand beside her as the other two stayed behind us. She skipped, almost ran, to the gate to meet who was there. Curiosity burned inside of me. It was either a friend of theirs or it wasn't. And if it wasn't, we're all screwed.
We finally reached the gate and Bellatrix pressed her head to the dark metal. I looked at the new people and my heart fell. I stopped myself from asking if it was them.
Hermione Granger
Ron Weasleyand Harry Potter. Except something was terribly wrong with his face. A man I had never seen before pressed Harry's face closer before moving his hair out of the way. The scar was gone. The one thing they could do to identify him. Gone.
Thoughts rushed through my mind. Maybe it wasn't Harry?
"Y/N," Bellatrix spoke with a raspy voice, just above a whisper. "Get Draco." I nodded my head before looking at the Golden Trio. Their eyes spoke a thousand words and guilt flooded my bones. They looked tired. Scared. They had been through something. And they looked tired of it. Tired of running. I could relate to that. I had to get Draco to pretend it wasn't Harry.
I turned around, my black dress following my movements as I walked. The doors were still open as I walked through them and back to where I last saw Draco in the dining hall.
The halls were mostly empty and I broke into a run. I had to get to Draco and talk to him before someone else got him. I looked behind me to make sure no one was watching as my feet carried me further and further. The dress I was wearing was long and I could hardly run in it but I made it work.
When I arrived at the hall I looked in hoping to find Draco. He wasn't there. No one was.
"Damnit," I cursed under my breath as I turned and leaned my head against the frame of the large doorway. I took a break to let my lungs regain air before I find him or anyone. Footsteps shuffled down the hallways and I looked in the direction. Bellatrix, the guy I had never seen before, and the golden trio were walking down the hallway.
