"It's the least I could do for the future member."

Narcissa and I got into the carriage and rode until we reached the destination. I had no idea where we were. It wasn't anything like Diagon Alley or Knockturn Alley.

It looked really high end as the building was lined with gold.

"Ma'am you really don't have to do this." I insisted. I felt bad that she was going to spend money on me since she hardly knew me.

"Why of course I do. We're here to get you some new clothes. I'll help you pick some out." I could tell she seemed excited again. She only had a son, Draco, and no daughters. Guess that's a common theme around here.

I was helped out of the carriage once more and the two of us started walking towards the entrance.

Narcissa walked with her head held high knowing that she was powerful everywhere. I wondered what that feeling must be like. Knowing that no matter who's in your way, you could get them out of it.

"After you," She said politely as she opened the large door for me. I walked into the new atmosphere of the store.

It looked like that store Amos took me too just larger and more high-end.

"Mrs. Malfoy!" A lady's voice said from the shadows. "And who might this be?" Her tone changed to almost a snarl as she stepped out and glared at me.

"This is Y/N Hartwood." She says, placing a hand on my shoulder.

"She's a Hartwood?! Now that I think about it, she looks just like-"

"That's enough. We're just here to buy her some new clothes." She cuts her off before she could finish but I was dying to know what she was going to say.

The lady nodded kindly and walked off again, letting us browse. "Let's find you some clothes, dear," Narcissa said leading me to where all of the darker clothes were.

We looked for a while and Narcissa had picked out a lot of clothes for me. I mean a lot. Lot's of them were silk since she said that would look best on me. I had tons of dresses in my arms as she kept putting more into the already large pile.

She walked across the racks letting her hand slide across each article. Then she stopped abruptly.

"This..." She said as she pulled a dark grey fur coat out. "You'll be needing this." She threw it onto the pile.

Finally, after what seemed like ages, we were done. The lady rang us up and in the end, I had 32 new dresses, 14 new skirts, 17 new tops, 4 pairs of shoes, and one fur coat. All of this is more than all the clothes I've ever had. I felt awful when I heard the price of the lot but Narcissa acted as if it were nothing. She brought out her gold galleons and paid in full.

"Mind carrying these to the carriage." She said. It wasn't an ask it was a tell. The lady shuffled about as she started to move the bags. "Alright, let's go." She said to me as she moved me back to the carriage.

We sat in the dark interior of the carriage once more. "Thank you, Mrs. Malfoy. I appreciate it." Even though the clothes were nothing that I would ever wear, I would have to now.

"Don't worry about it." She said with a smile. "It's the least I could do for the future member." I was already being called part of the family and I had known her for less than a day. I'm sure she accepted me but Lucius on the other hand was another story. "And please, don't call me Mrs. Malfoy. Call me Narcissa."

------

We arrived at the manor once again. The day had already felt like it had been a year and I didn't know how much longer it was going to last.

We walked back up the cobblestone pathway. "I think the other guests have arrived." Was all she said as she pushed the door open. I lifted up the dress I was wearing to walk up the stairs to the entrance. There were more people here? "Come dear," She led me back to the room we sat just hours before.

And sure enough, the room was filled with different faces. The conversations between them were loud as they clinked drinks and cheered. Until we walked in.

Lucius' voice boomed throughout the room and I saw Draco stand up quickly. His eyes full of fear and I had no idea why. "Here they are!" He announced even though the room seemed to of figured that out already. The silence that fell over the room quickly dissipated as people started to whisper. Whisper about me.

Deep breaths
Deep breaths
Deep breaths

"This is the girl?" A familiar cracking voice said. I looked where the sound had come from and out stepped a woman. My heart fell as I recognized her face from the magazine. Bellatrix LeStrange.

"Yes, this is Y/N. Y/N Hartwood." The words were spoken from Lucius this time. I had no other choice but to stand completely still. I scanned the room once more and I realized that some of the people were known to me. I had seen their names on headlines of newspapers.

Escape from Azkaban

And that's when I knew that all this was going to go downhill. Really quickly.

"Y/N?" I heard a male voice say from behind me. When I turned around, the Malfoys weren't standing there anymore. They had moved to the sides then went to stand by Draco.

"Y/N, is it really you?" The female next to him said. I squinted my eyes trying to figure out why I knew them. But I didn't. I had never met these people in my life.

"I- I'm sorry?" I didn't know what else to say. The room had lapsed back into the silence.

The two adults looked at each other with weak smiles and tears in their eyes. My heart started pounding heavily in my chest.

The woman came by and knelt down in front of me, grabbing my hands. I wanted to move but knew I couldn't.

"Y/N. We're your parents."
