"It was a relief to finally see some light at the end of the tunnel."

I sat in the chair at my desk, staring at the floor. My mind was filled with everything and nothing. I heard the door creak open and I glanced at who it was. It was just Draco so I turned my gaze back to the floor, keeping my left arm clutched against me as if that would ease the pain.

"Pain gone away yet?" He asked walking over to me. I said nothing, didn't even shake my head. "You going to sit there and ignore me?" He finally reached where I was sitting, crossing his arms. Still nothing. "I'm not going to beg you to talk to me."

"Did you see them too?" I asked suddenly. He looked at me with confusion while I finally peeled my eyes from the floor. "The memories. Did you get flashbacks?"

He was taken aback before he spoke. "Yeah. I did. Why?"

"We're they good or bad?"

"Both." He said solemnly.

I took a deep breath as I finally stood up, my legs aching from sitting for so long. "We're about to lose everything, aren't we?"

"We already have." He said gesturing to the dark mark on my arm. "I'm sorry I dragged you into this. I really am but now we have to finish what we have to. Fix the cabinet."

I just nodded my head. We stood in silence for a while until something hit the back of my head. I turned around to see a letter on the floor. It was from Amos.

I rushed back over to my desk and opened it, Draco following me.

Dear Y/N,
It sure has been a while. I just want you to know that I miss you and I hope you are safe and doing well. Just out of curiosity, how would you feel if we met on the platform on the first day back? Take care.

 Love, Amos Diggory

I smiled hugely at the letter. It had been the best news I'd had in a while and it was a relief to finally see some light at the end of the tunnel. I quickly grabbed a quill and wrote back as Draco took the letter and read it himself.

After I finished, I folded it to fit an envelope, addressed it, and sent the owl back out again.

Draco tossed the letter softly back on the table. I looked up at him and I could tell it made him happier.

"Come on. I think it's dinner time." He said as he grabbed my hand and lifted me off the chair. He let go as we walked down the now empty halls of the manor. We didn't say anything. Just kept our heads tall as we walked in tune with each other, my heels clicking every time I stepped on the floor. Him in his black suit and me in my black dress.

Finally, we made it to the dining room and no other death eaters except for Bellatrix was there. Everyone from this morning had left. It was going to be nice to have a normal dinner.

Well, as normal as things get now.
