"You want us to create the potion that kills Dumbledore?"
"You know we don't have anything to do this with, right?" Draco asked as we sat in his observatory planning out the next attempt.
"We can find something. It's not that hard." He muttered something under his breath at my response. The stress on the two of us was harsh and it was beginning to show with how we interacted.
Christmas break ended tomorrow meaning we have to back to school. I was relieved because I hated being watched by Death Eaters and Voldemort all day.
"Well, what do you suggest then if you're so smart?" He shot back.
"I don't have a clue."
"Exactly. So we're screwed." He sighed slumping back to where he was sitting.
I looked at him as I folded the notebook closed. "Will you stop saying that? We're not going to get anywhere with you acting like a two-year-old, Draco."
"I'm not."
'mhm,' I mumble. "What if we did poison?" I don't know how the thought popped in my head but it just did.
His head perked up and stared at me with empty eyes. "Poison?" He clarified. "Well, I guess we could... I can ask my father to make some or my mother or someone."
"What if we made it?" Again the expressionless face stared back at me.
"Us?" I nodded. "You want us to create the potion that kills Dumbledore?"
"Well if you say it like that." I huffed at his reaction.
"No. We'll get someone else too." With that, he got up and left. He walked down the stairs that we had come up. Probably to go get someone to make the potion since we leave tomorrow.
I didn't want to move from the soft environment. It was calming up here. I stood up and looked out one of the tall windows that reached to the ceiling.
There was nothing really to see except green from the plants, trees, and grass. I decided it wasn't worth my time to stay there so I moved back to where I was moments before. I reached down to grab the leather-bound notebook that we had written all our plans in when I heard footsteps run up the stairs.
"Y/N," It was Draco. He came into view carrying a bottle of something. "They already had some." He looked at me with a glint of hope in his eyes.
"What is that?"
"They didn't really say. Just that it's oak-matured poisoned mead. I think." He said as he walked over to me and handed me the jar to look at. It was quite heavy.
"Well, how are we going to get this to him? He doesn't exactly trust us much, does he?" Draco shook his head before responding.
"No. But we can do what we did with the Opal Necklace. Except not fail." I knew I shouldn't have but I laughed. Draco cracked a smile too. "We can give it to Rosmerta to give to someone again. Good?"
"Yeah. But who does she give it to? We should probably plan that part out since we didn't last time."
"Someone he trusts..." He said to himself thinking the material over. I was thinking too, then it hit me.
"Slughorn. He trusts him right?" I remember at the beginning of the year that Dumbledore brought in Slughorn after he retired because he trusted him.
"Perfect."
