Expecto Patronum

"This is my tree, quit coming here."

Draco and a few other Slytherins had become Umbitches bitches. They had found out that we were sneaking into this room to practice. Umbridge was rewarding the students that helped her with catching misbehaving students and doing her bidding. Of course, Draco and his pose were among those students. I guess that's why some of the people in DA didn't like me very much even if I was hardly like those other Slytherins.

I headed to practice after school to learn some more stuff. It was Wednesday. I had DA practice tomorrow as well and then the game on Friday. Then it's winter break. I was excited to see Amos again.

I reached the door and saw Neville entering as well.

"Hey, Y/N." He said shyly.

"Hey, Neville." I responded with a soft smile. He was always super sweet and quiet. He was like me. He didn't fit in anywhere.

"Oy, there's our favorite Slytherin!" I recognized the voices immediately and rushed over to them.

"Hey boys," I responded. "How's it going?"

"It's going good," George said.

"Have a good feeling today, love. Might get my Patronus down." He was really excited for it and I was happy for him. I just wanted to make my Patronus stronger. We had to think of a happy memory and I don't even know what I thought about last time.

After Harry greeted us and said his speech everyone separated and went to try their spells. I stuck with Fred and George.

Fred and George were planning on pranking Megan and her group and I was down for it. They said they were going to do it during lunch tomorrow and I agreed to be there. Wouldn't miss it for the world.

The three of us started working. I scavenged my head for that memory that got my Patronus to work last time but nothing came up. Then I tried to think of the happiest memory I could.

'Think'
'Think'
'Think'

What about the time I first saw Hogwarts?

No that was more confusion than anything. I still thought it was a big prank back then.

How about the time Fred and George gave me that candy the first time we met?

Yeah, yeah that should work.

I thought long and hard, replaying the memory in my head as clearly as I could while holding my wand up.

'We know what it's like to be thought of as crazy' They had jumped down from the tree I was sitting under. I turned around quickly and saw them standing there.
'See, but you two are the good crazy.'
'There's no good or bad crazy. Is there, Georgie?'
'Nope. There's just plain old crazy.'

The memory filled me to the brim with happiness but nothing, not even a spark shot out of my wand.

"Expecto Patronum," I repeated over and over again. Didn't work.

Then something flashed through my head. I wasn't even trying to think about it... it just happened.

"Care to dance?" I looked between his gaze and his outstretched hand. Was he serious? My suspicious rose but something lit inside of me and told me to take it. I placed my hand gently into his cold palm. He raised me off the chair as well as he led me to the dance floor.
He places one of his hands on my waist and this other collided with mine. I put my free arm across his shoulder. We started to dance on the almost empty floor as the outside noises became nothing but silence as the music became the only thing I was hearing.
Draco then moved his other hand to my waist as well, lifting me up and spinning me around. My dress spun with me gracefully as he did. He set me down and started to waltz once more.
We gazed into each other eyes and that's when I noticed something... strange. I've looked into those eyes many a time and saw nothing but hatred filling them. But at this moment, when I look into them, his stone-cold eyes, I can feel the universe shift.

Suddenly a blue and grey spark shot out of my wand. The colors swirled together until they formed a shape. My Hyena. It pranced around happily. It was the strongest one I've ever produced.

I was proud of myself but even more shocked. I had pushed that night out of my brain for some reason. It was all a blur and felt like a dream. An impossible dream, but it happened. For a short while, people thought me and Draco made out. Rumors spread but as quickly as they came they left.

"That's a bloody good one, Y/N!" George shouted from where he was standing. I grinned broadly still slightly confused. My brain wasn't processing it. Or didn't want too.

After the practice was over everyone snuck out of the room once more and when their own ways. I started walking back to the common room before I stopped in the middle of the empty hallway. I looked at the left and saw the black lake shimmering with the moonlight.

Before I knew it I was sprinting across the grass to the tree I sit under. The wind blew my hair back and my clothes ruffled in the wind. I felt free.

I slowed my pace as I approached the tree. I noticed the tree had something pinned to it. I jogged up to it and as I came closer it became obvious that it was a piece of parchment.

I reached it and tore it off the nail it was attached to before reading the black ink.

This is my tree, quit coming here.

Was all it said. The handwriting wasn't the neatest but it wasn't messy. I dug through my pockets to try and find something to write with. I found a pencil in one of the pockets in my robe. I pressed it to the tree and wrote,

You can't claim a tree. Who are you?

I didn't sign my name because whoever wrote the note didn't sign there's so I figured it didn't matter much. I took out my wand and said a spell to hand the note back up on the nail.

Who wrote that note and why do they care I'm coming here?
