"His yell was the worst kind of yell. The yell of losing someone."
Cedric had passed the second test and got me out of the freezing water of the lake but now it was time for the final test.
"Good luck, Ced." I gave him a big hug since everyone's saying how dangerous this one will be.
"I told you I'll be ok, Y/N" He laughed.
"Just don't get yourself killed." I joked as I lightly punched him in the shoulder before turning back to get to my seat on the stands.
I sat next to Tracey and Blaise. Blaise insisted I sit with him this time and dragged me over there. I really didn't want to because Draco and Pansy were over there too. Luckily none of them talked to me.
Everyone was cheering 'Diggory' and loud band music was playing until Dumbledore rose his wand and made his voice project to make a speech.
All the cheering quieted down as we all started to pay attention.
"Earlier today, professor Moody placed the Triwizard Cup deep within the maze. Only he knows it's exact position. Now as Mr. Diggory," Everyone, including me, stood up to cheer for him loudly as his hand was raised high in the air. "and Mr. Potter." I sat down at the mention of his name. He seemed to be the favorite kid and it was honestly unfair how Dumbledore thought of Harry higher than anyone else. "are tied for first position, they will be the first to enter the maze. Followed by Mr. Krum and Miss. Delacour. The first person to touch the cup will be the winner." Everyone applauded and I stood up clapping and screaming the loudest.
Dumbledore continued on with the speech until he finally said the words I really didn't want to hear.
"Champions, prepare yourselves!" Everyone started to cheer again. I saw Cedric go and hug his dad and it made me start thinking how nice it would be to have a family like that.
"On the count of three. One-"
My heart rate quickened. The cannon shot off to early making me laugh at the mistake. The contestants looked deep into the foggy maze before stepping into it. I watched Cedric as he entered the maze. I didn't take my eyes off of him until he was to far in the maze and gone from my sight. Everyone was sitting down but I did so hesitantly.
What if something happens to him?
"Hey, it's going to be ok," Blaise whispered beside me. "He'll be fine."
I pressed my lip into a straight line knowing that his words of wisdom wouldn't help me calm down at all.
I sat back in my seat and for the next couple of hours it would be all waiting. I didn't care if Cedric won or not. I just needed him to be safe.
------
I sat up quickly in my seat once I saw a couple contestants come back. They must have forfeited or something. I sighed and leaned back knowing the only two people in the maze were Harry and Cedric.
"What if something happened to him?" Anxiety spread through me as I asked Tracey.
"Nothing happened. He's strong. He'll make it." She comforted me in a hug.
Waiting
Waiting
More waiting....A giant flash appeared in the middle of the field and I saw two people.
"He made it!" I said happily clapping my hands in joy. Everyone cheered but I saw from where I was standing a couple faces shift to worry. Then I hear a scream. And that's when I knew something was wrong. Everyone was still cheering but my clapping slowed as my face shifted as well.
