"So this is what being rich feels like?"
"I can't believe it's Christmas break already," Tracey said as we walked out of the dorms with our items packed.
"I can't believe I'm not actually spending Christmas break here." I let out a light laugh.
"Oh, yeah. Have fun with the Malfoy's." She said as we were now walking down the crowded stairs out of the dorms.
Once we got to the platform, we met up with Theo who was trying not to get run over by everyone. "Hey, guys." He said as we approached. He pulled Tracey into a hug before holding her hand. I smiled at the two of them trying not to be the awkward third wheel that I was half the time. Tracey's face fell as she looked over my shoulder.
I turned to see who she was looking at. Draco. I raised my eyebrow asking why he was here. He rarely came up to me and my friends.
"Come with me." He said as he grabbed my hand.
"Woah, where are you going?" Tracey asked. It was obvious she didn't like Draco very much.
He sighed sasily before turning to face her. "I don't give a damn if you like me or not. I don't fancy her for you." I stood there in utter shock trying to decide whether I laugh or cry at the interaction. I didn't have much time to decide before Draco leaned down and pressed his cold lips to mine.
He smirked into the kiss sending butterflies through me. He parted and smirked snarkily at Tracey before dragging me along with him. He had never done anything like that before. Blaise came up beside us as we walked. How long had he been here?
"Alright, very funny. But where are we actually going." I asked him hoping he'd give me an answer.
"You're riding back with me." I shot him a weird look. "Bloody hell, I can't be that bad." I chuckled at that.
"You'd be surprised." I joked.
It was Blaise's turn to give us a weird look. "You two are the strangest thing." He said in all seriousness. I continued to laugh.
-----
We boarded the train and apparently, Draco didn't mean I'd be riding back with him and his friends. The Malfoy's and my parents had arranged for us to have our own cab. We said bye to Blaise before entering it. It was larger than the normal cabins that Theo, Tracey, and I had always sat in.
It was large with food and a table cloth already. The benches were better cushioned and much larger with tons of room between it and the table. It was more like a couch and a coffee table than a bench. I let my jaw drop as we both sat down on opposite booths. "So this is what being rich feels like."
"More or less." He said blandly.
He scooted to the edge of his side and leaned his head against the wall to stare out the window. The train hadn't started moving yet so there wasn't much to look at.
"You going to eat?" I asked him. There was a pile of food that I had already started breaking into. He shook his head. I could tell he hadn't been eating as much. He had stopped caring for himself. No sleep, no food, no happiness. It was getting out of hand.
I always wondered why he was like this with me but completely different around his friends. Like kissing me in front of Tracey to spite her. But based on what we had talked about a couple of weeks ago, it was because I was the only person who could understand and wouldn't ask too many questions.
But I wasn't going to sit here and let him not eat. So, I picked up a grape and laid it on the table. I closed one eye and placed my fingers behind the fruit. I aimed and flicked it right at Draco's head. He snapped out of his daze and just glared at the grape that was now lying next to him on the couch. And that's what started it.
He picked up three more grapes and threw them at me.
"Hey! That's not fair." I laughed. "I only threw one at you."
"Doesn't matter." He picked up more and threw them at me. I shielded my face from them with one hand while the other was searching the table for something to throw at him. My hand hit a spoon that I knew went to the mash potatoes. I picked it up and flicked it aimlessly at him. I heard it hit something but it wasn't a mystery for long.
"All right that's it." He said. Grapes stopped hitting me so I lowered my arm and Draco wasn't in his spot.
"What the-" Suddenly something caught the corner of my eye. Draco was climbing under the table. I laughed uncontrollably at this. "What are you? A child?" I wheezed, my stomach hurting now with laughter.
He pushed himself onto the other side of the couch I was on and glared at me before grabbing a spoonful of potatoes and whacking them at me. The white mash was evident on my black dress and evident on his black suit.
"Damn you, Draco," I said as I went to grab something else to throw at him but before I could, he grabbed my right arm. I reached over with my left and found a piece of meat and threw it at him. He caught it and threw it back at me.
Laughter between the both of us filled the large compartment as we continued to throw food back and forth. It was one of those times where life felt like a dream. But I didn't mind.
I went to reach for something else closer to Draco's side but my hand slipped sending me forward, toppling onto him. He caught me and wrapped his arms around me to steady me. All the while, I'm a laughing mess.
I felt my back hit something and when I opened my eyes my laughing ceased and I froze. He had laid me down and was now on top of me. His arms were propped by my head keeping him from completely falling on me. His torso was between my legs.
He leaned down and laid a kiss on my lips. I kissed back not knowing what else I could do. He deepened the kiss making me grab the back of his neck.
"Damn," He breathed into the kiss making my face heat up which would've been embarrassing if our eyes weren't closed. He moved his lips down to my jawline and I saw him reach for something. He brought out his wand and flicked it making the beige blinds fling over the windows, shutting out the outside world.
