"I know you're a good seeker and I don't trust anyone else with that spot."
Tracey, Theo, and I sat at the long table, as usual, to eat lunch when someone came up behind me. He leaned over me, his cologne filling the air.
"Hey, can you come with me real quick?" Theo and Tracey sat in silence watching us with wide eyes.
"Yeah sure," I said as I swung my legs around and followed him out of the great hall to the corridor. "What's up?" I asked as we arrived outside.
"I think I'm going to quit Quidditch." He said out of the blue. My mouth dropped open.
"But you love Quidditch why would you quit?"
"Because we can't balance Quidditch and... well you know." I nodded my head but was still confused about why he was pushing away everything that made him happy.
"We?" He nodded his head. "Now what do you mean by that?" I crossed my arms.
"We both can't do it. We'll get unfocused too much and if we both quit that will only raise more suspicions. Especially since Potter's on to us already."
"I'll quit then. I haven't been doing it for as long as you. Quidditch makes you happy and we need that."
He shook his head at my response. "No. No, I'm going to quit. You stay on the team. I know you're a good seeker and I don't trust anyone else with that spot."
"You realize that if you quit, Potter's going to be more suspicious, right?" I said trying to get him to stay on the team. He stood there and looked like he was contemplating it.
"Alright. You're right... I'll just feign an illness." My eyes narrowed at him. Why was he refusing to let me quit and let him continue to do this?
"I still don't understand why you have too-"
"I just do, okay?" His tone was harsh as it normally was when he got upset. "I'll give you my broom. You need to stop using that hand me down Weasley broom." With that, he walked off into the school once again.
My heart fell. That feeling was becoming a normal one to me. I turned to walk back into the school but as I did I came face to face with the twins. Great.
"Is it true?" Fred walks up to me.
"You're dating Draco Malfoy?" George continues.
I nod my head slowly while swallowing a large lump in my throat. It hurt to see them again. I had managed to avoid them until now.
"Never thought that'd happen." They both say to each other. I just smile while trying to walk past them.
"Woah there. Haven't talked to ya all year and your not going to talk back?" George says to my back but I just continue to walk. No matter how much it hurt I couldn't. I don't know what would happen if I betrayed the Malfoy's. I don't want to think about it.
