"But at this moment, when I look into them, his stone-cold eyes, I can feel the universe shift."
Everyone, even the two other schools, crowded into the great hall early in the morning. Dumbledore wanted to have a few words with us before we go to get ready for the ball.
"I just want to say that I am very proud of every single one of you. This castle is home to so many good memories all produced by the students. Tonight will be no exception." He finished as the hall erupted in claps and cheering. "Now, go get ready. The festivities begin at 8:00 P.M sharp." He reminded us as students started to flood out of the hall.
"You excited?" I heard Ced say as he came running up behind me.
"Yeah actually," I said with a laugh. "I'll see you there, ok?" I smiled as I continued to walk back to the common room with Tracey.
The hallway was filled with excited students so pushing past them was a mess. Tracey and I got separated so now I was alone in a crowded place.
I felt a sharp jab to the side of my stomach harder than all the other ones. I looked to see who had done it.
"Pansy." I groaned as I was just trying to ignore her. "Can't you leave me alone for one day?"
"Nope. Look Hartwood, I've got a question." She said more cheerfully than usual. "What are you going to be wearing to the ball? Dracey and I have a bet. I say you're going to be wearing the cheapest pants and sweater you can find but, surprisingly, Dracey thinks you'll actually show up in a dress." She crossed her arms as I tried to continue walking past her. Even when I did walk away her and the group kept coming up to me. "You never answered me Y/N"
"It's cause I didn't want to. I was ignoring you." I snarked at her as I finally reached the common room door.
Pansy went to talk again but Draco put a hand on her shoulder getting her to shut her mouth before she aggressively moved his hand off her shoulder.
I looked at him confused but rolled my eyes as I entered the room and ran up to the dorm.
"What took you so long?" Tracey said as she sat on her bed brushing her hair.
"Don't wanna talk about it." She nodded her head knowing what happened.
"Well, start getting ready. What are you waiting for??" She said excitedly. I laughed as I went to go do my hair and makeup.

I looked in the full-body mirror that I conjured, pleased with it all. Not to brag, but I looked great. The green dress matched me perfectly and I knew that dressmaker knew what she was doing. It fit me perfectly as well.
Tracey walked in after putting on her dress as well.
"Holy shit. You look awesome, Y/N." She complimented as she walked over to me.
"Thanks." I beamed. I made the mirror disappear and the two of us got ready to get to the staircase where we would meet our dates.
Pansy and Millicent never came into the room thankfully. They must have gotten changed somewhere else.
When we reached the staircase Tracey ran up to Anthony and hugged him. I peaked my head around the corner but shot back when I saw so many people.
"I can't do this," I whispered to Tracey who was now holding Anthony's hand.
"Yes, you can. You're stunning. Here let me see who's down there." She offered as she walked to the top of the stairs to see who was down there.
"Ok, I do see Blaise. He's standing with Draco and Pansy so now would be your time to go." She pushed on. I collected myself before drawing in a deep breath. "Have fun, Y/N." She said before she and Anthony walked down the stairs together. I leaned against the wall still contemplating whether or not to go down there.
