Amelia had everything- family, friends, a promising future- the sky was the limit. But just like that everything was taken from her. One moment she's planning her high school graduation party the next she's laying on a therapist's couch. It was as i...
And there it is folks, I was officially coming off the high of our kiss that left me delirious. My eyes narrowed on his perfect physique.
"Hold up, Dr. Playboy." The words slipped out before I could stop them.

His head tilted to the side, unfazed by my sudden shift of tone, a humorous smile pulled at the corners of his mouth.
"You think I'm a playboy?"
"Oh, no. You are not changing the subject that easily." I shook my head. "We need to back track to the 'you're mine' part."
Look, I don't consider myself to be a major feminist. Yes, I do believe that men and women should be seen and treated as equals. However, I would be lying if I said that the idea of being someone's wasn't a turn on. A major turn on as a matter of fact. But what this man was trying to do was completely utterly gratuitous.
"Of course. What part don't you understand?"
My mouth fell open. The voice in the back of my head was growing rowdy by the second.
Oooh, this man is screwing with us. Oh please, just give me five minutes alone with him. Five minutes and I'll make his head spin off his shoulders and leave him gasping for air.
I just had to remember to breathe and keep calm. I can't let go at a time like this. Not now.
"Let me make something clear right now between us," I started. "You are my boss. I am only-your secretary."
Elijah wore a look of skepticism. "You expect me to believe that this is what we are?"
"I don't mix work and pleasure. Ever."
"Neither do I," he said promptly.
"Good. So we agree that we forget this ever happened and continue on as before."
He chuckled, "Nice try, clever girl. I had something else in mind-"
I was baffled. "Like what? We act as colleagues by day and lovers by night? Do you have any idea how crazy that sounds?"
"Well, when you put it like that I think it sounds like a perfectly rational idea," his voice was laced with sarcasm which led me to narrow my eyes.
"Do you remember the first time I came here for an interview? Remember the question that you asked me 'of all the young women that have come to my office for an interview, what makes you any different from them?' Well my answer still stands."
This time it was Elijah who took a step back.
His arms folded across his chest. "Ah, yes. Your agenda of never sleeping with me. So sex is really off the table?"
I exhale. "Yes. As long as I work for you, sex is definitely off the table." I must be out of my goddamn mind to have just refused a man that could probably out shine any of the past guys I've been with. Still I needed to stand my ground.
