After my shower with Elijah I quietly wrapped a towel around myself. I left the bathroom to let him finish drying off. I sat silently on the edge of the bed as my mind slowly eased out of the haze that clouded my mind. Talk about an outer-body experience. I had felt everything, every once of pleasure he had given me, but not for a single second of it was I in control. The words, the movements- none of them were mine.

"Was that really necessary?" Mia hissed

"Was that really necessary?" Mia hissed.

"That wasn't me," I said to myself. "I thought that was you."

"Not a chance," she stated

A sudden chill raced up my spine and settled on the back of my neck like a cold hand. I didn't know what to make of this situation but I knew that I didn't have time to sit around and contemplate. I turned around to grab my phone and began typing the code.

No more distractions.

"No more hesitations," I said.

And no going back. . .

I pressed the 'send' button and immediately wanted to vomit. It was like someone had just punched me in the stomach. What had I just done?

My phone beeped, I looked down to find a new message from 'S'. Jesus, that didn't take long.

5 minutes. Be ready. - S

. . .

Those five minutes felt like an eternity. My body was still numb, but I managed to get my clothes on. I made sure that files I found were safely tucked away in my bag before placing it near the front door. When I returned to the bedroom I found Elijah staring down at the bed.

As I moved closer I saw him glaring down at my phone. Fuck. Did I seriously leave my emails opened on my phone for him to find?

"What are you looking at?" I asked calmly.

I watched his brows pull together in confusion. He picked up my phone.

"Who is this?"

I blinked at the screen, not having a single clue what to say in return. So, for once, I actually went with the truth.

"I don't know," I said.

Elijah took a small step back. His gaze swept up my face until he locked on my eyes. He looked as if he didn't recognize the person standing in front of him. Maybe that was because the person staring back at him wasn't just me anymore. Maybe it's because he is looking for someone else in my eyes. Someone who he has known about since the very beginning.

He narrowed his eyes.

"You're lying," he stated.

A sudden surge of pain spiked through the back of my head, reaching all the way to the front. I could feel Mia reaching to the surface.
