Three months with Miles have been nothing but blissful. We've barely been separated and talk on the phone when we're apart. We have a lot more in common than I ever would've imagined. He's incredibly charming and sweet. He listens to me, lets me vent, and gives me advice with problems. Maddy has come to adore him and told me to not break his heart, as if I ever could.

We've talked about meeting my parents, I just don't think I'm ready for that just yet. The only guy they have ever seen me date was Ben and that was for most of my teenage years. I want to make sure this is serious before I rush into any introductions.

When I walk into the kitchen, Maddy pulls her homemade lasagna from the oven and I'm practically drooling. I really need her to teach me a few tips on cooking so I can impress Miles at some point.

"That smells so good. It'll taste even better."

She grins and puts the garlic toast in the oven before removing her mitts. "I hope so. Damian loves Italian food."

"Ooooh Damian loves Italian food!" I mock and giggle.

"Hush your face. I made dinner for you and your boy toy too."

"You didn't have to do that. I understand if you wanted this dinner to be just the two of you. We can go find something to do elsewhere if you want the apartment to yourself." I tell her and set the plates on the table.

"Or we could find something else to do if you wanted to have the place to yourselves. I'm sure Miles would like that."

I don't know what she means by that but okay.

I set the forks down on paper towels and make the table look very presentable for the afternoon. Miles and Damian should be over any second so I rush to my room to finish getting ready.

Maddy decided to go more semi formal tonight with her dress and makeup. I didn't want to look out of place so I put on a dress too. I come back out a few minutes later to Maddy catcalling me.

"Damn girl! Who are you trying to impress?"

I roll my eyes. "My boyfriend, if you don't mind." I laugh.

"So you want us to leave if you two are..."

I stare at her and raise a brow. "If we what?"

"Have sex, dummy."

I'm going to slap her.

"We aren't having sex." I tell her and rub at my arm.

"Why not...?" She asks.

Why does she always want to know every little detail? This shit is not her business!

"We just aren't."

"You aren't or you haven't?"

"Both."

She wiggles her nose with her brows furrowed. "Oh. Why, though? You're not still hooked on Ben are you?"

My mouth drops slightly. That was completely uncalled for. Why does she feel the need to assume the reason I'm not doing stuff is because of my ex boyfriend? I told her repeatedly that I'm over him.

"No, I'm not hooked on Ben. We haven't even talked about sex."

"You've been dating for 3 months and you guys haven't talked about it?"

"I'm not like you, Maddy. I don't jump in bed with a guy at first glance."

That set her off. She slams the spatula down on the counter.

"What the fuck did you just say?" She yells.

My eyes widened. I didn't think that would upset her this much. I always joke about the way she acts sometimes and it usually doesn't bother her.

"I'm just saying that I-"

I try to defend my comment but she's too far fueled by anger.

"You what? You're not a slut? Is that what you were going to say?"

She gets closer to me and I back up so far that I almost hit the wall. I know she wouldn't physically fight me, she just looks very threatening at this moment. What has gotten into her?

"No! I wasn't saying that. Maddy, you need to chill. I was just saying that it's rude you have to be all up in my business about my sex life."

"Because we're best friends and you tell me everything! I'm sorry I assumed you guys had slept together. I didn't think you'd be so defiant in having sex with Miles since you were so eager to have Ben f-"

The door opens up just in time.

"Okay Maddy! Thank you! Dinner looks amazing!" I raise my voice to drown out the last few words of her sentence.

She huffs and crosses her arms. Miles and Damian look at each other and then back at us. Damian walks over to Maddy and embraces her comfortingly.

"It smells great in here." He says and kisses her cheek.

She straightens her back and takes a deep breath. "Dinner will be ready in a second. Just waiting on the garlic toast." She says softly and walks down the hall to her room.

He gives me a worried glance to which I reply back with a shrug. Miles chuckles and wraps his arms around my waist.

"Good evening, beautiful." He whispers and lightly pecks my lips.

I force a smile to try to hide the fact that me and Maddy just about had a huge ass fight only a minute prior.

"Do we have any other plans for tonight or are we winging it?" I ask him.

He gently pushes a strand of my hair behind my ear and stares into my eyes. He's always focused on every move I make.

"I didn't really have any plans. I'm up for just about anything." He tells me.

I nod and cross my arms.

"Well how about after dinner we head out and go do something?" I suggest.

He nods and smiles, gently placing a kiss on my forehead. "Sounds great to me."

Maddy comes out a few minutes later with a bottle of wine and four glasses. She sets them down on the table and pulls the garlic toast out of the oven.

"Need any help?" I ask her from the dining room.

"Nope."

She's totally pissed at me. I was rude, but I think I was at least a little valid since she wants to be up my ass all of the time.

She gets everything on the table and takes a seat. Damian sits next to her as she starts digging into the lasagna to put on plates.

I open up the wine bottle and pour everyone a glass. Miles takes a sip of his and makes a face.

"Yikes."

I look at him. "Is it that bad?" I giggle.

"Just a little sour." He says and licks his lips.

I catch myself staring at them for a little too long.

"I think it's great." Damian says and swallows half of his glass.

Maddy sits in silence, eating her lasagna. I grab a piece of garlic toast and take a bite. The tension in this room is starting to get to me.

"So are you guys staying in tonight?" I ask.

Maddy glares at me and jabs her pasta with the fork. I can tell Miles is starting to sense something is off because he looks at me and squints his eyes accusingly.

"Does it matter?" She fires.

I was hoping we could continue this conversation away from our boyfriends. I guess that's not going to happen.
