"Not Kira. It wasn't meant for her. The System took her. It's been fighting back against me" while he was talking he held one hand up as Missy approached as did Ryan trying to what you assumed was to capture him but you had no idea what the time lady had in mind. They both stopped suddenly in their tracks as He holds up a circular device, presumably a trigger mechanism of some sort towards you all but he seems to look towards you more which didn't go Unlooked by the others especially missy who flickered her gaze between you both.

You go to pull Missy's arm back but she stood tall. "Because it knew what you were planning. The maintenance man. Access to everywhere, noticed by hardly anyone." You looked at Missy again remembering what she had said earlier today to graham, it only caused your eyebrows to frown, did she know it was him too?

"You've been killing other workers?" Judy piped up, you took the opportunity to pull Missy with a little bit more force as all eyes were on Judy. Whatever she knew it didn't matter you still couldn't let her be in danger. You step infront causing him to look directly at you in fear, he shot his hand further towards you again trying to be threatening which you had to admit- it was.

"I needed test subjects to be sure the detonation force would work in such a small concentration." He answered taking a couple steps back to make more distance between you all.

"What? Charlie, how do you know all this stuff?" Judy asked raising a brow obviously not expecting it from a janitor.

"I lied on my application. Gave you a sob story, so you'd let me in, and you bought it. I've studied cybernetics, explosives, teleportation. I have worked for this."

"I don't understand."

"Ten percent? They want us to be grateful that ten percent of people get to work? What about the other ninety percent? What about our futures? Because without action, next time it will be seven percent, then five, then one. I am stronger than you. I am not going to stand by and accept it. People like me, my generation, we change things. We make things happen."

"This is about a job, when did the little people become so busy?" Missy grumbled dusting of a small lint ball of the shoulder of your jacket with a frown.

You shook your head, how could she be joking when he's holding a device like that in his hands. "Even if it costs people's lives?. You kill a load of customers at Kerblam, let the systems take the fall for it, erode people's trust in automation, make people angry." You piped up stepping towards him only for him to move further away in response not letting his eyes fall from yours.

"Imperfect technology, without a conscience. Machines malfunction, that's what they do" he scoffed.

"No, mate, that's what you're doing. Seriously malfunctioning." Graham leaped forward trying to capture him of some sort but he was fast, you held your hand up somewhat trying to calm the situation but he only resorts to raising his voice.

"I'm not your mate!" He screamed, you pulled Graham back probably with more force than you would of liked causing him to yelp and place him safety behind your back with the others. He groaned softly catching his footing before he fell. Yaz helped him become steady.

"Except Kerblam's System does have a conscience. It's been fighting you, Charlie. It knew it. It sent a message across the galaxy, begging for help. That TeamMate in Slade's office, it was coming for you. And then Kira. It took her, knowing how you felt about her, to show you how it would feel. Because how you feel right now about Kira is how all those families and friends will feel if your plan goes off." You explained thinking back to how he reacted when Kira was taken from him, you just remembered the way you felt when Missy was taken from you too and when you both forgot each other, that consent pain in your hearts at her loss. You gave him a sympathetic smile knowing where all the anger was coming from even though he was still totally mad.
