Nope, I'm not crying. I'm totally not crying. There's just an entire tree in my eye. Both eyes.
Hera hides her face, hiding the blush forming on her cheek. When cheers erupt from the crowd, she finally puts herself up together and says her speech, "Suho, you make me feel young again. When I'm with you, I'm filled with such a light. Being married to you is going to be the icing on what has already been an incredible life. And I couldn’t be more thankful."
Suho takes the necklace from the time capsule, "I can't think of a better way to make this official, than with a piece of our past," with that, he clasps the necklace around her neck.
"I love you so much.." Hera whispers and falls into his embrace. This. Is. Too. Cute.
Okay, another wedding down. Bravo, Niki! Now it's time for party.
The music starts and a bunch of people hits the dance floor. Everyone's getting their groove on, Suho and Hera included.
"What is this?" Koki whispers.
"I don't know, but I'm kind of into it," Yeonjun shrugs.
Well, not surprised, I must say. I'm not used to the eighties music either. But hey, the couple's enjoying. That's all that matters, right?
"Whoa, look at them go!" one of the guests says gesturing at Suho and Hera. I'll be honest, I didn’t expect Suho and Hera to be able to dance like a couple of twenty years olds, but they're absolutely killing it!
"Woo, get it!" I hype them up from the crowd. Now, the whole wedding's out on the dance floor and someone's tapping me on the shoulder?
"Hello, um, I guess you're the one who planned this whole little shindig, hm?" it's the same guest who was hyping Suho and Hera earlier.
"Yep. That's me. I'm Niki!" I stretch my hand out to shake.
"Well, Niki. It's nice to meet you. I'm Soobin. Choi Soobin. What you did for Mr. Kim and Ms. Ji was really amazing. I've been in Ms. Ji's neighbourhood for a long time. She's a really kind woman and very close to my family. And I just know this is everything she dreamed of. It'd be thanks to you. Nice people like this barely exist nowadays."
From the few minutes of conversation, I can tell he's a real sweetheart person.
"I was happy to do it!" I smile.
"Would you like to dance?" he asks, glancing at the floor, his head facing downwards. Was he just hoping to ask me for a dance and that's why he came up with this small talk?
"I'd love to. But well, you’d have to teach me the steps and all because I'm not familiar to this type of music," I say.
"Sure, don't worry about it. Just follow my lead," he says and leads me to the dance floor. My dancing partner's very forgiving. And I think actually start to get the hang of it. Everyone at the wedding dances the night away..
✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
It's been a few days since thr wedding, and I think I'm actually itching to get going again. Which is why I hunted down Piyuu.
"I've got a few more clients to send your way. This is a popular season to get married!" she says.
"Well, that's good for us, right?" I say.
"Definitely! I think we might've to start putting people on a waiting list pretty soon! Though most of them are still day-of job. We're going to need more exposure if we want to start reeling on big jobs," she sighs.
I nod. This is so true. Aria and Luhan's wedding is the only real time full job I've got. Others are just last minute emergency. But let's be real, it's quite rare that people will need a last minute emergency wedding planner and call anyone available. Mostly people hire an experienced wedding planner that are known to them, which is definitely not me. As Piyuu said, I've no exposure. But how am I supposed to get exposure? I've had no idea I'd be ever doing this in my life so I don't even have any networking strategies.
I tap my chin and think, when suddenly something on Piyuu's desk catches my eyes. There's a letter that says Cheonjiyeon Waterfall Wedding Convention in giant letters.
"What's that?" I ask.
"Oh..that?" she picks the letter up, "It's nothing. It's just an application for a convention in two weeks. I was thinking of applying for it. But I chickened out. It's probably too late now anyways," she proceeds to torn the letter but I grasp her hand and stop her immediately.
"Piyuu, you were literally just now saying we need more exposure. We should totally go!" I say.
She shakes her head, "But-"
I stop her, "Listen, this will be the perfect opportunity for you to put yourself out there. You could get your designs out into the world and the two of us could make business contacts! And also, this will give us a scope to bond better! Me, you, travelling to a wedding convention and hanging out at Cheonjiyeon waterfalls? Sound perfect to me!"
She chuckles, "It'd actually be nice to go in a vacation, specially with you. But let's see if we can still even get in. Because the applications were due weeks ago."
Ahh, come on, Cheonjiyeon waterfalls!
Piyuu takes her phone out and browses through their official page. After a few minutes of scrolling, she finds something.
"Well..vendor spots are all filled up, but there's still one last spot for the fashion show section," she says.
"That's absolutely perfect! You could show off your dresses on the runway!" I exclaim.
She sighs, "Well, that'd be perfect, except I don't have a model to showcase."
Oh god, why's she looking at me like that? Please, Piyuu, don't say that-
"Hold up, what about you?" her eyes brightens up in the idea. She looks me up to down.
