"There's no need to insult anyone, Sir!" I say.

Chaeyeon nods in agreement, "Exactly. You’ve got no rights to attack him and his career choices like that dad. He's not a failure. Besides, everything you’ve ever taught me, all the lessons and all the training..none of it ever inspired me. I never understood how beautiful life could be until I heard Kyungsoo sing. He helped me find the passion that you always tried to possess on me but couldn't."

"That's ridiculous!" her father crosses arms and scoffs.

"That's not ridiculous dad. Your methods are ridiculous. When I hear Kyungsoo's music, I feel like I finally understand everything you tried to teach me growing up. I feel like I recognize the world around me a little better. I feel like I finally understand myself. And I always wanted to feel that way about how you made me see things, but I couldn’t. I'm sorry dad but that's the truth" she blurts out in one breath, leaving me speechless.

"Why didn’t you ever tell me these?" Chaeyeon's father asks, jaw dropped to his daughter's confession.

"I didn’t want to upset you dad" Chaeyeon says with an expression of fear.

"Chaeyeon, I think your father is upset about more than music," I say.

"What?" Chaeyeon's father taken by surprise.

Okay..I'm going to take a risk here, but if I'm right..

"It seems like you're afraid that she's going to leave behind the things that you value. Or worse, that she's somehow leaving you behind," I shrug.

Chaeyeon's father opens his mouth to object, but stops himself. Ha, gotcha.

"Dad, is that true? Do you really think that I'm just going to ditch you once I get married?" Chaeyeon asks.

Come on, come on.. Give me something, Sir.

"Oh, you two..I'm so sorry for how I've been acting," he says with soft eyes.

Jackpot.

"Kyungsoo, Chaeyeon..I know I've been stone harsh, and I'm really sorry for that. I've raised Chaeyeon on my own and I wanted to see her in top of the world. But little did I notice what she actually needed. I just put her over racks of money and thought she'll be happy," I notice the man tearing up.

"I never let you find your own happiness, darling. I never even noticed what really makes you happy but Kyungsoo did. Maybe I was just afraid you're going to leave me behind. I've always caged you like a pet bird. So when you choosed someone to spend your life with on your own, I just..lost it. That was pathetic of me," he starts to sob uncontrollably.

I wasn’t previously on his team. But now he's got my vote.

"That's understandable. I think it's natural to feel a little bit of fear or worry about such a big change. But Chaeyeon loves you, and so does Kyungsoo. And the fact that they're here right now proves it. You're not getting left behind," I say.

"I suppose that's true. You make a really good point" he says.

"I promise to you, I'm totally not going to take her away from you. I want to be a part of this family. And I want you to be a part of our lives," Kyungsoo says.

I smile, "See?"

Chaeyeon's father looks around nervously, "Well, I'm..I just..don't know."

My smile fades as I put on a serious face, "See, the important thing is that you and Kyungsoo both love Chaeyeon. You both want her to be happy, right? It's obvious that you both care about her so much."

Chaeyeon's father, "Yes, but.."

"Come on, Sir. You can't seriously still refuse. See, how happy your daughter is with him. The only thing that'll make her happiness stay is your presence in the wedding," I say.

"Okay, you're right. From now on, I'd only focus on what makes Chaeyeon happy. If this is what she wants, this is what I want too," he says.

Everyone is crying happy tears. Job well done, Nikita. I'm officially killing the wedding planner thing, right?

"Okay then, let's get a move on people. We've got a wedding to attend!" I yell enthusiastically cheering.

✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

Hours later, Chaeyeon and Kyungsoo seal their vows with "I do" s with even more pyrotechnics. Once the reception starts and my work is done, I decide to celebrate because I've freaking earned it.

What? Doing the last-minute stuff is hard work. And setting up a family soap mega drama is even more hard work. Ever done that?

Oh, there's Kyungsoo and Chaeyeon!

"Niki!" Chaeyeon rushes over to my side.

"Hey there! Congratulations, you two!" I yell over the loud music playing.

"This has been the best day ever! Thank you so much for everything! I really don't know what we would've done without you!" Chaeyeon says.

"I really appreciate what you did for us, Niki. You went above and beyond the call of duty today. Honestly? I don't know how I can ever properly thank you but thank you so much," Kyungsoo says.

Aww, these two.

"Well, you two deserve the best. Your love is special and so I wanted to make sure that the day was as special too. And about thanks, as it’s my job, the payment and free food is all the thanks I need," I say.

Okay, I probably should've not said the free food part. But who doesn’t like free food? Where's the lie?

"I'll make sure you get both. But for now, I figured that you might want to stick around for my performance. I'm just about to go on stage. Would you?" he asks.

Oh yeah, like I'm really gonna pass that up.

"I wouldn’t miss that for the world. I can't pass the opportunity to see the Do Kyungsoo in action!" I chuckle.

If I'm going to get up close to the stage, I better move now. I shoulder my way through the crowd as Kyungsoo takes in the stage.
