'FUCK FUCK FUCK, WHY IS HE HERE!' Gulf screamed internally, sending a silent SOS to his friends.

"HELP ME!" he mouthed, soundlessly begging for rescue.

Immediately, Kokliang and San bolted toward Gulf, only to be ambushed by two brown werewolves who had sprung out of nowhere.

"My love, you really shouldn't say that," the stranger smirked, a wicked gleam in his eye.

"Sa-say what?" Gulf stuttered, slowly turning his gaze towards the stranger.

"My pack members heard you—my love. They heard you beg for help," the stranger said in a low voice, causing Gulf to shudder as if rattled by a cold wind.

Without warning, the stranger slapped Gulf hard across the face, leaving a vivid red mark in its wake. Gulf instinctively cradled his cheek, trying to shield himself, but it didn't work—this brute was far stronger.

"Don't you dare lay a finger on him!" Kokliang roared, attempting to lunge at the stranger, only to be tackled yet again by another wolf.

"Don't be a silly pup, my warrior is miles tougher than you," the stranger sneered, forcefully pulling Gulf closer as he sauntered away with a triumphant smirk.

"Kill them both," the stranger commanded, his voice dripping with malice as he gestured towards Kokliang and San, his pack member circling them like a shark. With a snarl, the beast lunged into action.

"No, no! Please, don't kill them! I beg you, Fiat! Please!" Gulf pleaded, desperation lacing his every word. But the stranger halted in his tracks, a sinister grin spreading across his face.

"It's been far too long since you've called me by that name, love. Very well, since you've chosen to speak to me so tenderly, I shall spare them," Fiat proclaimed, his eyes glinting with wicked satisfaction as he surveyed his warriors.

"Do not kill them, but maim them to your heart's content!" he commanded, and the warriors nodded, some howling in agreement at their Alpha's decree.

"Please, leave them alone, Fiat. Please! I beseech you!" Gulf's pleas fell on deaf ears as Fiat thrust him into the car with ruthless efficiency.

'Shit, shit! Why does this have to happen now?' Gulf raged inwardly, watching as the university grounds disappeared in the rear-view mirror.

"Where are we going, Fiat?" he asked, striving to keep his voice steady.

"Away from your so-called mate. Honestly, love, how can you be with him? Clearly, he's not your true mate; that title belongs to me," Fiat replied, holding Gulf's trembling hand with a grip that felt both possessive and suffocating.

'You're completely bonkers, utterly insane!' Gulf screamed silently at himself, desperately trying to maintain his composure.

"Anyway, love, congratulations on your results! I always knew you would excel," Fiat continued as they left the city behind.

"Um, Fiat, where exactly are we heading?" Gulf ventured again.

"Home, love. Home," Fiat responded, his tone more effusive.

"Erm, which home?" Gulf asked, his voice wavering slightly.

"Dear Gulf, you'd best refrain from asking any more foolish questions, or I may lose my patience," Fiat warned, his tone deceptively calm, leaving Gulf speechless as he stared out of the window, succumbing to a chilling silence.

---- ---- ---- ----

"Alpha! We have a situation at the university car park!" Kokliang mind-linked Mew, a wave of urgency pulsing through their bond.

"Where's my mate?" Mew asked, unease gnawing at his insides.

"He's being held captive by that so-called Alpha, Fiat," Kokliang responded just before he was tackled by a hulking brown werewolf.

"Bloody hell!" Kokliang gasped, thrown to the ground by the brute force of the beast.

"Are you alright, darling?" San inquired as he grappled with another of the brown wolves.

"Yes, sweetheart, but why is this wolf so strong? He's just a warrior but fights like a beta!" Kokliang cried out, being bowled over yet again.

"Honey, you need to sniff them out again; their scent is tainted with werewolf steroids," San said calmly, even as the brown wolf bore down on them.

"Damn it, our Luna is being taken! ALPHA! HELP!" Kokliang shouted through the link, wrestling desperately with the brown wolf.

"FOR GOD'S SAKE. I'm on my way!" Mew yelled, fury fuelling every syllable.

As Kokliang and San finally subdued the steroid-infused foe, two more brown wolves emerged from the forest, their snarls ringing with primal fury.

"Great, they're here for revenge," San muttered, instinctively shielding Kokliang with his body.

Just as the enraged wolves lunged, their pack members arrived at the university, forming a fierce circle. Mew appeared, shifting back into his human form.

"Shift!" he commanded, his Alpha voice cutting through the chaos. The wolves whined but held their forms.

"I said SHIFT!" Tharn bellowed, entering the fray. At his command, one of the smaller brown wolves accidentally transformed into her human shape, while the other wolf snarled defiantly at Tharn.

Fury ignited within Tharn, and he charged, dispatching the defiant creature before the eyes of their pack members, who smirked at the fallen foe.

Once he shifted back, Tharn seized the female by her hair, demanding, "Where is my mate?"

"With his true mate, not you, you pathetic imitation!" she hissed, glaring at Mew with venomous hatred.

"You wish you were dead," Mew retorted, casting her aside like a rag doll to one of his warriors.

"Get her into the dungeon for questioning," Tharn ordered before shifting back into his wolf form and sprinting towards the forest, sniffing out the enemy's trail.

"Let me assist you, Alpha," Kokliang urged, following his brother into the darkness of the woods.

"I smell them!" San shouted, bolting towards the no man's land.

"Damn it, the trail stops here," San exclaimed as they reached the border.

"That can't be right," Kokliang said, sniffing the air desperately.

"I can't trace them either; their scent just vanishes at this border," Kokliang added, looking around in dismay.

"Same here," Tharn growled in frustration before unleashing a howl that echoed through the night.

Everyone within earshot howled back, a rallying call resonating through the air. Gulf's ears perked up as he turned to glance back at the city they swiftly passed.

"Hahaha! What a foolish man, thinking his howl will compel me to release my mate! Utterly ridiculous!" Fiat laughed maniacally, revving the engine to a devilish speed.

'Oh God, Mew, please save me from this lunatic,' Gulf silently prayed, gripping the seatbelt for dear life.
