'Oh, Goddess, it's been more than a month now! Why can't we find him?' Mew screamed, his fist crashing into the wall of his office, sending cracks spiderwebbing across the surface. Tharn snarled in response, stifling a whine as despondency washed over him, lamenting his failure to keep his mate safe.

"Alpha! We've located their hideout!" Kokliang's urgent voice surged through their mind link.

"Warriors, gather around! We are bringing my mate home!" Mew commanded, striding purposefully out of his home office.

"The rest of the pack stays inside! No one leaves, not even for a stroll until we return! Teenagers, keep them safe—time to flex those training muscles while we're away," Mew instructed as he reached the main door.

"This bastard, Alpha Fiat, loves to launch surprise attacks on other packs, but now it's our turn to strike with full force," he added, determination blazing in his eyes as they set off.

'Good grief! I hope they get the message,' Gulf muttered to himself while cradling a small boy in his arms.

"Rise and shine, my love," Fiat proclaimed grandly as he entered the room, flicking on the lights with a flourish.

"Why the hell are you holding him?" he barked, fury etched across his face as he stormed towards Gulf and the boy.

"Don't, Fiat! Please don't!" Gulf pleaded, positioning himself as a shield between Fiat and the child.

"I said move, mutt!" Fiat commanded, directing his ire at the boy. The little one trembled like a leaf, crawling away from Gulf until his escape was halted.

"Fiat, please! He's just a kid!" Gulf implored again, gripping the boy's arm to halt him.

"Don't you dare protect this little bastard!" Fiat snarled as he wrenched the boy from Gulf's grasp. "You dare to touch my mate, you stupid mutt?" he spat, delivering a brutal kick to the boy's stomach.

"No, don't!" Gulf screamed, lunging towards Fiat in a desperate attempt to intervene, but was shoved away with effortless contempt, the sheer force of Fiat's alpha power sending him crashing back several metres, his head colliding with the bed frame.

"Damn it, Gulf!" Fiat shouted, rushing to his side and cradling him protectively. "Gulf, baby, please open your eyes," he urged, lightly slapping Gulf's cheek in a panic.

Little did Fiat realise that fortune had smiled on Gulf; he had merely grazed his head and lay unconscious for but a moment. Gently, Fiat laid Gulf back on the bed, his eyes narrowing with pure hatred as they landed on the boy.

"You stupid boy! I will kill you for this," Fiat growled, stalking towards the child after carefully positioning Gulf on the bed.

With merciless intent, he seized the boy's frail body, hurling him aside like a rag doll before unleashing a flurry of punches that iterated the violence with every impact. The boy lay helpless beneath the onslaught, blood spilling forth while he endured each blow, succumbing slowly to defeat.

"Warrior, remove this filthy body from my mate's room," Fiat ordered coldly before striding out of the room, spitting disdainfully on the boy as he left, eager to rid himself of the blood staining his hands and clothes.

After freshening up in a hasty manner, Fiat sauntered to the kitchen, searching for sustenance for himself and Gulf. Yet, before he could step foot inside, the alarm blared throughout the house, signalling they were under attack.

"Damn that duplicitous mate!" Fiat spat, fury bubbling beneath his skin. "Warriors, gather and kill them all!" he yelled, quickly transforming into his wolf form as they dashed towards the forest.
