AMELIAS POV
Owen and I have been married for 8 years now. It's amazing. I love him more and more every day. I absolutely adore him. After college we both went to med school and went through an internship and residencies together in Boston. After Megan graduated and started her internship she went back to Seattle, and with a lot of convincing, Owen got me to move to Seattle too. I loved Boston, and it was where we spent the last 12 years, but Seattle is nice. His old mentors, Richard Webber and Miranda Bailey both offered us fellowship positions at Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital which was an amazing opportunity. I did love it out here, and we were close to Owen's family, which I was much more closer with than my own. After the wedding Nancy and Kathleen resented me and we kinda drifted apart. I'm still decently close with my mom and Liz, but I'm the closest with Derek. He's the person in my family who I'll always be the closest with, no matter what. I made a cup of coffee and sat down at the counter and looked out the window, and saw the beautiful skyline of Seattle. Owen and I had a house together. It was amazing. It has a few extra bedrooms and all I can think about is filling them with kids. I really want to start a family with Owen, but we haven't been able to in the past few years because of med school and work. We were now 29 and 28, and I just couldn't wait to start a family soon. I'm hoping it'll be soon at least.
OWENS POV
"Amelia honey are you ready?" I asked as I walked downstairs.
"Yeah," she said as she grabbed her laptop and I smiled. She was adorable, as usual. Nothings changed. She's the one person in this world that I adore the most and love. I'm so in love with her. I somehow got to convince her to move out to Seattle together. I think she loves it here, she definitely acts like it, and Megan interns at the hospital we both now work at so she has her. I know she definitely misses Derek in Boston, but we both got two really good opportunities here in Seattle.
"First day," Amelia smiled and pecked my lips, "are you nervous?"
"No, are you?" I asked.
"You're not nervous at all? Liar," Amelia chuckled.
"I mean I already know Richard and Miranda," I chuckled.
"And you're probably the only one in the entire program who can call them that," Amelia chuckled.
"You're right," I said and nudged her.
"So kinda important question," Amelia said.
"Okay," I said as we got in the car.
"Should I go by Hunt or Shepherd? I mean don't get me wrong I love being Mrs.Hunt, but then there's three of us," She laughed, "between you me and Megan it might be confusing."
"Whatever you want to go by is perfectly fine by me," I said, "I don't mind either way."
"You're sure?" She asked.
"Yes I'm sure honey," I said and pecked her lips before driving to the hospital. I parked in the parking lot and we both got out.
"So I'll see you after work," Amelia smiled cutely.
"I will," I said and kissed her, "have a great day I love you."
"I love you too," she said.
AMELIAS POV
Today was so overwhelming, but it was nice to be working here.
"You're Amelia right?" I heard.
"Uh yeah hi," I said.
"I'm Jo, Jo Wilson," she smiled, "Bailey said we were getting two new fellows today!"
"Yeah," I smiled.
"Hunt right? Are you related to the intern Megan?" She asked as we started walking for rounds.
"She's my sister in law," I responded.
"Sister in law? You're married?" She asked, "you look so young."
"Uh yeah," I chuckled, "I married her brother Owen."
"Oh my gosh that makes sense," she said, "he started today too right?"
"Yeah we just moved here from Boston," I said.
"That's nice," she said, "how long have you guys been married?"
"8 years," I said.
"Oh my god wow that's a long time, congrats to that," she said.
"Thanks," I said.
"Do you have kids?" She asked.
"No," I said.
"Well, now that I know about you, I'm Jo, I'm dating, and other than that my life is boring compared to yours," she laughed.
"You dating anyone here?" I chuckled.
"Yeah Alex Karev actually," she said. Someone flew past us on roller skates and I looked at Jo.
"And thats Arizona, super bubbly and loves rainbows and sunshine," Jo said, "she's super sweet you'll love her. She's married to Callie, the ortho attending."
"What's Arizona in?" I asked.
"Peds, so is Alex," she said.
"That's cool, do you have a specialty?" I asked.
"I'm leaning towards general, you?" She asked.
"Neuro," I said. My phone buzzed and it was Meredith.
"Happy first day! Miss you in Boston but promise Derek and I will fly out soon!" It read.
"Sorry I was not looking at your phone but did that say Meredith Grey? Like Ellis Grey's daughter?" Jo said.
"Yes," I chuckled, "she married my brother Derek."
"Girl who are you?" Jo laughed as we grabbed a few patient charts.
OWENS POV
"How is your first day going?" Bailey asked me as I was filling out some paperwork for an attending.
"It's good," I said, "thank you so much for this job, and for Amelia."
"You're welcome," she said, "I am just so glad to see you two back here! Especially you after all the time you spent here as a teenager."
"Yeah, it's good to be back, and Megan's here. It's home here," I said.
"I'm glad," Bailey said, "you or Shepherd page me if you need anything."
"Will do," I nodded. I looked at the clock and smiled because I was scrubbing in on a surgery today. First day excitement. I just hoped Amelia was having as good as a day that I was having.
