AMELIAS POV
Evelyn and Megan were at home with the kids, and I was helping Owen get ready to come home. He was coming home. This is the first time in 3 months. I felt like I could breathe again. He was okay. His tests all came back great and he was responding to his new heart well.
"You can finally come home," I smiled as I wrapped my arms around his waist and he kissed me.
"I'm so happy," he said.
"Me too," I smiled. The door opened and Maggie came in.
"Okay so just some last minute things, Owen you should really be on bed rest for about a week to adjust to your heart, and no strenuous activities for 4 weeks," Maggie chuckled, "I think you know what that means."
"Yes," Owen chuckled, "and thank you."
"You're welcome," Maggie said as she handed me a packet of discharge papers. Owen and I filled them out and we were good to go. I drove us home and unlocked the front door.
"Daddy!" Logan and Lucas yelled as they ran down the stairs and hugged Owen.
"Hey guys," Owen smiled.
"Dad," Caroline smiled as her and Maeve walked out of the kitchen. I smiled as the kids embraced him and Evelyn and Megan came out of the kitchen. Evelyn came over and hugged me tightly.
"You can breathe now honey," she said softly, "you can breathe."
"I can," I smiled as I looked at her.
"Thank you for staying by his side through this, he needed you, he loves you so much," she said.
"I love him too," I smiled, "I need him just as much as he needs me, maybe more."
"Look at you all standing and mobile!" Megan joked as she hugged Owen. It was so nice to have him back.
OWENS POV
My mom and Megan stayed for lunch and now it was just Amelia and I with the kids. The kids really wanted to play a board game so they were setting it up in the living room while Amelia and I were in the kitchen.
"Are you sure you're up for a game? You need your rest," Amelia said sweetly and kissed my cheek.
"Amelia I'm fine," I said, "I haven't been home in 3 months I want to spend time with you guys."
"I know, but it's important you get your rest too," she said.
"Amelia I sleep for 8 hours a day it's plenty of rest," I chuckled.
"I've missed you," she said as she kissed me.
"I've missed you too," I said, "I've missed us like this."
"Me too," she said.
"Mom! Dad!" The kids called from the living room. We walked into the living room and we all sat on the couches around the table.
"Dad can I be on your team?" Logan asked.
"What? I want to be on dad's team," Caroline said.
"No fair," Maeve and Lucas said at the same time.
"Why don't we compromise and I be on mom's team," I laughed and put my arm around Amelia.
"Fine," they chuckled.
"I want to go first," Maeve chuckled, "and Caroline's on my team."
"If you get to pick your team Lucas and I get to go first," Logan said.
"I almost died I think I get to go first," I said and grabbed the dice.
"Not funny," Amelia said.
"It's funny now," I said.
"Just roll the dice," Amelia chuckled as we started the game.

"Owen?" Amelia asked as she walked out of the bathroom.
"Yeah?" I asked.
"Do you need anything?" She asked, "are you comfortable?"
"I'm fine," I said, "come lay with me." The door opened and it was Maeve.
"Hey," I said.
"Hi I just wanted to say goodnight," she said and came over and hugged Amelia and I.
"Good night," I said, "I love you Maeve."
"Good night I love you," Amelia smiled.
"Good night I love you guys too," she said and left.
"How have they been?" I asked as Amelia cuddled next to me.
"Better," she said, "a lot better now that you're okay. You gave us quite the scare there."
"Yeah I scared myself too," I said.
"Yeah," she said, "I'm so glad you're okay, but you do have to take bed rest seriously, we can't have anything happen to your new heart. We are so blessed that you got one, we have to keep you healthy."
"I know," I said, "I'll take it easy."
"Good," she said. There was a knock on the door.
"Come in," Amelia and I said. Logan opened the door.
"What's up buddy?" I asked.
"Can I sleep in here?" He asked.
"Sure," I said and looked at Amelia who nodded. Logan climbed onto the bed and in between Amelia and I.
"What's up buddy?" Amelia asked as she laid down.
"I missed you guys," Logan said, "together." I smiled as I pulled the covers over Logan and Amelia.
"Good night mommy and daddy," Logan said.
"Good night," I smiled at Amelia and Logan.
"Good night bud," Amelia said.
