AMELIAS POV
Logan's team won their basketball game and he was so happy which was cute.
"Daddy did you see when I blocked that kid and then passed the ball to Jason?" Logan said excitedly as we were walking in the parking lot.
"I did," Owen said.
"Logan and then you shot that nice 3 after," Brandon said and gave him a high-five. Brandon loved Lucas and Logan like they were his little brothers and it was adorable. Caroline smiled as he grabbed her hand. They were cute together.
"Logan you have to show me the dribble thing you did when we get home," Lucas said.
"Okay," he nodded as Owen unlocked the car.
"Mom I'm going to go say bye to Brandon," Caroline said as they walked to Brandon's car. I turned to Maeve as the boys got in the car.
"Do you want to tell your dad?" I asked. She nodded.
"Okay," I said and kissed her head, "you have nothing to worry about I promise."
"Thanks mom," she said. Her and Caroline got in the car and we all drove home.
"Daddy can we play outside?" Logan asked.
"Aren't you tired bud," Owen laughed as Logan and Lucas ran over to the basketball hoop in the driveway. Maeve looked at me and I knew she wanted to talk to us.
"Guys daddy will be out for a minute," I said and kissed Owen's cheek.
"What why?" He said.
"Because I want to talk to you guys," Maeve said.
"Oh, okay," Owen said. Caroline smiled as the four of us walked inside and Caroline went up to her room to give Maeve space.
"So what's up?" Owen asked as the three of us walked into the kitchen and I sat down, "Is everything okay?"
"Yeah," Maeve said, "yeah uh, I just wanted to let you know that I like someone."
"Oh okay," Owen said, "that's cool." I frowned at how hard it was for Maeve to talk about this.
"Yeah," Maeve said, "and I kissed them, and they're a girl, and this is really hard for me." She said it quickly and Owen looked up.
"Maeve honey," Owen said and hugged her, "you know we love and accept you no matter what, no matter who you like."
"I know," Maeve said. I got up and hugged her too.
"We love you so much," I said, "nothing can ever change that."
"I know," Maeve said.
"So is she just your girlfriend? Or just a friend?" Owen asked.
"I don't know," Maeve said awkwardly, "It's weird."
"Well that's okay," Owen said, "it'll take time."
"Exactly," I said.
"Thank you guys," Maeve said, "I love you."
"We love you too," I smiled and kissed her cheek.
"Okay well I'm going to go upstairs," she chuckled.
"Okay," Owen said. She went upstairs and I turned to Owen.
"When did our kids start growing up?" I chuckled.
"I know," he chuckled, "but I'm glad, even as nerve racking it was for her, that she could tell us."
"Me too," I said.
"Come outside and play basketball with me," Owen laughed as he grabbed my arm.
"Owen I'm bad at basketball," I said.
"Who cares so am I," he chuckled, "come on grab your shoes the boys are outside."
OWENS POV
"Daddy! Mommy!" Lucas smiled as him and Logan were shooting the basketball.
"Hey bud," I said as he passed me the ball.
"Guys I am not good at basketball," Amelia laughed.
"Yes you are," Logan said, "just shoot the ball." I shot the ball and it went in and I looked at Amelia.
"Come on you can do it," I chuckled.
"Ugh fine," Amelia said, "can you pass me the ball." Logan threw the ball and Amelia shot it and it was nowhere near the basket.
"You were kinda close mommy," Lucas said.
"Yeah okay," Amelia laughed.
"Someone just needs practice," I laughed as I threw her another ball.
"Mommy look shoot it like this," Logan said and showed her.
"Okay," Amelia said and came over to me and threw the ball and it missed again.
"Ok so maybe you aren't good at basketball," I laughed and nudged her.
"Shut up," she said and pushed me.
"No fighting!" Lucas laughed.
"Daddy's being mean to me," Amelia chuckled and pushed me again.
"I'm being mean? You're pushing me," I laughed. She pouted as the girls came outside.
"Can we all play?" Lucas asked.
"Oh I'm not good," Caroline laughed.
"That's okay neither is your mother," I joked. We divided into teams and started playing. It was so much fun just being with my family for the night.
AMELIAS POV
Today was fun. It felt like old times, before all the sickness and scares. It was fun. The boys were upstairs getting ready for bed and Caroline and Maeve were finishing homework for this weekend. I was cleaning up dinner dishes when Owen came into the kitchen.
"Hey," I smiled.
"Hey," he said, "need help?"
"I'm good," I said, "thank you." I finished washing the dishes and he walked over and smiled at me. He stroked my cheek with his thumb and I smiled as I looked up at him.
"Today was fun," he said, "just like old times."
"Just like old times," I smiled.
"The kids are growing up so quickly," he said as he kissed my forehead.
"I know," I frowned, "I don't like it."
"I don't like it either," he chuckled.
"Come cuddle with me on the couch?" I asked sweetly. He nodded as he took both my hands and we laid down on the couch.
"I love you Amelia," he said.
"I love you too Owen," I smiled.
