Timeline: a few months later
CAROLINES POV
"Maeve I finally get to meet her!" I smiled.
"Don't embarrass me," Maeve said. Today we were decorating gingerbread houses with the family and Brandon was coming over and Julia was coming over. Julia was now Maeve's girlfriend. She makes her really happy. I've met her a few times when she's come over, but we've never like done anything together. She makes my sister really happy and I'm glad. Maeve deserves it.
"How's Brandon?" She asked as she started curling her hair. Julia and Brandon were coming over in about an hour. I loved Christmas time. I love all the decorations and activities. It makes me so happy.
"He's good," I smiled.
"How long have you guys been dating again?" Maeve said as she grabbed my highlighter.
"Don't use that!" I said and grabbed it, "it was expensive."
"Ugh fine," she said.
"And almost 9 months," I said.
"You could have had a baby in that time," Maeve joked.
"Shut up," I said.
"Can I ask you something?" Maeve said.
"Sure," I said as I grabbed my mascara.
"Have you had sex?" Maeve said.
"No," I chuckled, "why have you?"
"No," Maeve said.
"You've only been dating Julia for 2 months you can't be thinking about it already!" I said.
"Yeah but I can't get pregnant from it," she said, "you can."
"Oh my god shut up," I said, "don't do it. Not yet at least."
"I won't I was just curious," She said.
"Sure," I chuckled.
"You really haven't done it with Brandon?" She said.
"No I haven't," I said.
"Do you want to?" She said.
"Are you kidding have you seen him? I know you don't like guys but yes of course I want to," I laughed.
"He is cute," Maeve said.
"I know," I smiled as I walked out of the bathroom.
"Caroline! Maeve! Are you guys ready? Julia and Brandon will be here soon!" My mom called from downstairs.
"I'm ready," I said as I walked downstairs, "Maeve almost is."
"Okay," my mom smiled, "you look nice."
"Thanks," I said.
AMELIAS POV
Today the kids wanted to decorate gingerbread houses, and Julia and Brandon were coming over too. I adored both of them. I haven't know Julia as long as I've known Brandon, but Julia definitely makes Maeve super happy, and Owen likes them both which makes it all better.
"Mommy why can't we make gingerbread houses now?" Lucas complained.
"Lucas you just want to eat the icing," Owen laughed.
"No," Lucas giggled.
"Yes you do," Owen laughed and picked him up.
"Maybe," Lucas pouted.
"That's okay I want to eat the icing too," I joked.
"Mommy when are Brandon and Julia getting here?" Logan complained as he walked into the kitchen.
"Brandon just got here," Caroline smiled as she walked to the door. She opened the door and Brandon was here and Julia was just pulling up.
"Maeve!" I called.
"One minute," she called from upstairs.
"Julia's here!" Owen said.
"One minute!" Maeve said. I chuckled as I walked to the front door.
"Hi Brandon," I said.
"Hi Mrs.Hunt," he said, "how are you?"
"I'm good how are you?" I said.
"I'm good," He said, "my mom says hi." I smiled as Julia walked up the steps.
"Hi Julia," I smiled.
"Hi Mrs.Hunt!" She smiled. Julia was such a peppy girl it was adorable, kinda the opposite of Maeve but they were good together.
"I'm ready!" Maeve laughed as she ran down the stairs and over to Julia.
-
The kids were decorating their gingerbread houses and Owen was attempting to build another house, which we were awful at.
"Owen you have to hold the pieces together before you add more icing," I chuckled.
"Amelia I know how to make a gingerbread house don't be ridiculous," he said.
"Looks like it," I joked.
"Daddy I'll help you make it," Logan chuckled and climbed up on the chair at the counter.
"Mom look at Julia and I's house," Maeve said. I got up and walked over to the table and smiled.
"Looks awesome," I said.
"Brandon you can't eat all the icing we need that for the roof!" Caroline laughed. I chuckled as I looked at Lucas' house.
"Isn't it cute mommy?" Lucas said.
"It is," I said.
"Mommy daddy and I got the house together," Logan said.
"Good job bud," I said.
"Logan I'm stealing the rest of your gumdrops," Caroline said.
"Okay," Logan said.
"Amelia come help me with this house," Owen chuckled.
"Oh so you need help?" I chuckled and grabbed the icing tube. The kids eventually finished their houses and went their separate ways. Julia and Maeve were watching a Christmas movie together in the living room, Caroline and Brandon were watching TV upstairs, and I think the boys were playing video games. I looked at Owen and I's gingerbread house and chuckled.
"We're not so good at this," I said.
"Says who?" He laughed and grabbed the bag of candy, "pick a color."
"For what?" I asked.
"A color Amelia," he said.
"Red," I said. He grabbed the red gumdrops and put them around the house.
"Ooh can we put sprinkles on the roof," I asked.
"Sure sweetheart," he said.
"Sweetheart?" I smiled.
"Do you not like that?" He said.
"I do," I smiled.
"Okay," he said and kissed me.
"Ooh peppermints!" I said and grabbed the candy off the counter.
"You're such a child," he chuckled.
"You love it," I said.
"I do," he said.
"So the dog," I smiled.
"We are picking up the dog tomorrow," he said.
"The kids are going to be so surprised," I giggled.
"I'm surprised you said yes," he chuckled.
"Took a lot of convincing," I laughed.
"It's a good thing," he said and kissed me.
