Timeline: 3 weeks later

AMELIAS POV
Owen and I have been trying for kids like crazy lately. I haven't taken any tests yet because I'm still scared. I need to talk to someone about this. I figured maybe Bailey? Jo doesn't have kids, and I've only been working here 3 weeks and I'm not really that close with like Arizona, Callie, April, or anyone. I don't know what to do.
"You ready to observe Torres' surgery with me?" Jo smiled.
"Yes!" I smiled.
"It's going to be awesome," Jo said, "I heard she's doing an interview this week about it if everything goes well."
"That is amazing," I said. That's what I wanted. I wanted to be a world class neurosurgeon. I wanted to be the chief of neurosurgery. But I also wanted to be a mom, and a wife. I didn't want my whole life to be work. I wanted to be a mom, I wanted to grow old with Owen, I wanted to send our kids to school and watch them make friends. I wanted it all.
"You okay? You look like you're worrying," Jo said as we sat down in the gallery.
"I have to talk to Bailey later I was just thinking about it," I said.
"You have to talk to Bailey? What did you do? Are you in trouble?" She said.
"No," I chuckled, "I just have to ask her something."
"I'm scared of her," Jo said, "she's so serious."
"I mean yeah," I chuckled.
"Whatever it is, it'll be fine," she smiled.

I was walking to Bailey's office and I felt nervous, but I needed this. I needed advice. I really did. I knocked on the door and heard a "come in." I walked in and she looked up from her computer.
"Shepherd," she smiled, "or Hunt. Which are you going by again?"
"Either is fine," I chuckled.
"Sit down, what's up?" She asked.
"It's kind of a professional yet unprofessional question," I said.
"Spit it out," Bailey chuckled.
"Okay, well. I want to have kids, but I'm so worried about how it'll affect my career. I feel like I've been waiting for the right time where I can step back and stay at home but I feel like there's never a right time," I said sadly.
"You're right with that one. There's never a perfect time. In this field you'll always be busy, but you can always make time for your family. I'll tell you this, I had my son Tucker when I was in my second year of my residency, and look where I am now. If you want both, you find a way to balance it. Sure, you'll have to work a little harder when you get back here, but it's nothing you can't do Amelia. If you want to have kids and be a doctor, you can do it. I promise, and if you go on maternity leave and have a baby, you won't lose your job, and you won't fall too behind," she said sweetly.
"Thanks," I said, "I really needed to hear that."
"We all need reassurance sometimes," she said, "it's okay to be unsure."
"It's just, Owen wants to be a dad so badly, and I really want to be a mom, and I feel like I keep putting it off because of work and I know I'll be doing that forever if I let it hold me back," I said.
"You're right. Don't let it hold you back. I had a kid during my residency, April has a daughter, Callie and Arizona have a daughter, I know your brother and Meredith Grey have a little girl, plenty of doctors do it and make it work. It will work out for you guys," she smiled.
"Thank you Bailey," I said, "I appreciate it."
"So here's a question for you, are you thinking about having kids or are you pregnant?" She chuckled.
"I'm not sure I haven't taken a test yet," I chuckled, "I'm nervous to."
"Don't be," she said, "I've known Owen since he was 15, he is so supportive and loving. He'll be there for you."
"I know," I smiled.
"Alright so all your friends are watching by the sky walk so should I yell at you or should you just walk out?" She laughed.
"Please don't yell at me," I laughed.
"I won't," she said, "I'll see you around."
"See you around," I said and got up. I walked out of her office. I walked down the hallway and Jo grabbed my arm.
"What happened?" She said.
"Nothing happened," I laughed.
"Bailey usually yells at people," Andrew Deluca said.
"She didn't yell at me," I chuckled.
"You are so her favorite and you haven't even been here a month," Andrew chuckled.
"I am so not her favorite," I laughed, "we all know Owen is."
"Well you're favorite by association," Jo joked.
"Sheps!" Koracick called, "let's go." I chuckled as I met him in the elevator and the doors closed.
"You know I didn't know you were married to that ginger," he said.
"Uh yeah," I said.
"It's interesting," he said, "anyway we're doing laser research today."
"Cool," I said.
"Also, I'm giving you a solo surgery on Tuesday, you're welcome," he said.
"Really?" I said, "thank you."
"Don't blow it," he said as the doors opened. I nodded as we walked into the research lab.
OWENS POV
"Owen please let me scrub in with you," Megan begged as I was walking down the stairs.
"Megan I cannot always pick you," I said.
"Well Bailey always picks you for everything, who cares?" She said.
"Megan," I complained.
"Please?" She said.
"Why don't you ever ask Amelia?" I chuckled.
"Because I don't like neuro and I think the attending is weird," she said.
"Weird?" I said.
"I don't know," she shrugged, "he's annoying."
"Amelia mentioned that," I chuckled.
"I don't like neuro please Owen?" She asked.
"I don't even get to make all the shots I'm a fellow Megan," I said.
"Fine," she said.
"But the attending already picked you anyway," I chuckled.
"You really made me beg for nothing?" She laughed.
"Yes," I chuckled as I opened a patient's door to join the other fellows for rounds.
AMELIAS POV
I was finally done with the day. I walked into a supply closet and saw April.
"Oh hey!" She smiled.
"Hi," I said.
"Need help looking for anything? Know it looks really overwhelming in here sometimes," she said.
"No I'm okay, I'll figure it out, thank you though," I said.
"No problem, I'll see you around," she said. She left and I walked over to the shelf and found a box of pregnancy tests. I took a deep breath as I slipped two into my pocket.
