I anxiously looked at my watch for what seemed to be for the 50th time. I needed to be home. I knew that. My sister needs me. Despite Sungwoo's constant reassurance of everything being okay, I can't help but feel anxious.
After the incident, we wanted to take turns and keep an eye on her. However, Hanna is still on tour. And I have had to take a few business trips here and there. Since sungwoo's job rarely requires traveling, he was the one who took it on to himself to do the deed.
"Sungkyung? Is that you?" I asked her squinting my eyes.
"Hi Jae! How long has it been?" she smiled.
"it's been years. It's so nice to see you. When did you come back?"
"umm...you guys are the ones who moved, I never left. And, I ran into woo a few weeks ago." she giggled.
"that's great." I grinned at my brother.
Hanna and I always rooted for these two. They were classmates and have been great friends since. To our dismay, they never dated. They went on to date other people all the while being friends with each other. These two were the definition of two peas in a pod. How the hell can't they see how perfect they are together?
"when is the food com- Jae, you're back." minhee came out.
"yeah..." I replied.
"i.. should go. Have fun guys. I need to get up early tomorrow." Sungkyung spoke politely waving at us.
"I'll call you."
I chuckled as sungwoo spoke.
The atmosphere tensed up quite quickly. I decided to carefully break the ice.
"so, how are you? Mom and dad bombarded me with calls the other day, they're worried about you too you know?"
"they called you too huh? Yeah minhee if you won't just say the word I can take you to dad's or mom's." sungwoo reassured minhee softly.
"I prefer staying here actually...I need to...umm I need to tell you guys s-something."
minhee seemed indecisive. She instantly looked down and bit her lip. "i...I thought I was okay. I meant it when I said it. But, I um at the practice, I couldn't breathe....you're right. It was too early to back to work... I need help."
