Chapter 6: Will we ever be able to debut?

I was shocked that JYP chose me as one of the trainees. I looked at the other girls waiting for someone to talk.
So-hee: Ummm... maybe we should introduce ourselves?
The girl with the white t-shirt suggested and we introduced ourselves, it turns out I'm the youngest here. We continued chatting and getting to know each other for a few hours. Although I felt a little intimidated by these girls at first, they seem really friendly and kind.
After a while, we started to plan out our performance. We decided that jin ae was going to do our makeup, Hanna was going to pick out our clothes, and I offered to do the hair for everyone. Yura and minjee offered to pick songs and choose the choreo. Sohee wanted to pick out positions of the group but we insisted on voting on it. I saw sohee eye roll at the suggestion.' hmm that's weird.' i thought side-eyeing her.
The two weeks we got to prepare for the group performance were very wearying. I got closer to all the girls in the group but something about sohee was pretty shady to me. I mean, everyone would be working their asses off and she would be in the corner playing with her phone. There were times when the older members like Yura and jin ae would lose their patience with her but it was obvious they were holding a lot of anger in and tried to be nice. Anyways, as we were supposed to perform the next day, I went to practice after hours only to meet Hanna working her guts out. 'this girl's got passion, doesn't she get tired.' i thought admiringly.
Hanna: "heyyy I didn't hear you come in"
*she said smiling tiredly when she noticed my presence*
Me: "hehe sorry umm I wanted to practice some more."
Hanna: "oh that's great. Wanna practice together?"
*she offered, making me smile widely.*
Practicing with Hanna last night was such a blast. She was a little shy at first but slowly let her walls down and honestly,  She's such a down-to-earth person. I got the opportunity to get to know her better.
The next day, we met up early to go through everything and make sure everything was perfect before performing.
As we were about to perform, we got into a circle and smiled at each other as if we were promising to give it our very best this performance.
Hanna: "let's get it guys!"
*Hanna said cheerfully making me chuckle.*
We performed (hafhhfh). The mentors and JYP seemed very satisfied with it. They even cheered at the end.
JYP: " thank you, for proving to me I made the best decision by choosing you girls to be in this group. we'll keep training you guys as a group and after a few evaluations I'll pick out the positions. Great job today! Keep up the good work."
After that, we had monthly evaluations. All the company mentors and sometimes the artists and JYP himself would watch and evaluate us closely. We had to perform a solo song and a group performance. We had to choose our own outfits, songs and come up with the choreography. There were also mid-term evaluations as well. During monthly evaluations, they conduct a mini photoshoot. This was supposed to make us more comfortable in front of the camera. There was no time to play around since there was so much that needed to be done at the end of every month. After every evaluation, we would tell ourselves, we were gonna debut soon. Like this, a few months went by. The time just flew.
We were doing our daily practice routine until we were halted by a very displeased JYP. He looked somewhat baffled and dismayed. We respectfully greeted him. He was glaring at so hee.
JYP: " sohee ah, I'm very disappointed in you. How can you do this?! you're not even an idol yet but you got yourself involved with such an outrageous controversy. *he took a deep breath and gave the rest of us a sorrowful look*  I have no choice but to remove you from the company and delay the group's debut. I'm sorry." With that, he left.
Yura: "just what the hell did you do?"
Sohee: " they're just all reacting it's not even a big deal"
Jinae kept her head down until she said that.
Jinae: " CLEARLY it was big enough for them to kick you out of the company and delay OUR debut, the debut that WE *she gestured the rest of us* worked our asses off for!"
*jinae yelled plainly fuming. She just left after that without another word.*
It took me a while to process what just happened. I looked at the other three members. Yura and minjee were just as shocked as I was. Hanna on the other hand was giving so hee such a  menacing look. If only looks could kill.
Me: " how can you seriously be this selfish?! do you even know how long we fucking trained for this? Did you even think about the rest of us? This....this was my only chance to debut and YOU ruined it..."
* I roared with rage as angry tears came out*
Even as I was leaving I heard so hee shout back.
Sohee: " you don't have to be such a baby about it."
Hanna: "shut the fuck up for once in your life."
* I heard Hanna blurt out before she ran up to me and embraced me .*
Hanna: "let's go for a walk okay? You'll feel better after."
I nodded as a reply not really wanting to talk yet. We walked along this small river. I've never been to this place before it's so relaxing.
Me: "the air feels nice."
Hanna: "it is right, I always come here when I want to clear my mind, it helps me think."
Me: "thank you for coming after me, I do feel so much better now."
Hanna: "sweety, I didn't do anything. I just accompanied you. But hey you should know, if you ever wanna talk, I'm here"   
* she winked at me *
Me: "I just ugh it's so frustrating, you know? I knew something was off with her."
Hanna: " she did give off a bitchy vibe didn't she? * We shared a look and laughed* I really hoped I was wrong tho. *she chuckled sadly* 
Me: "jinae looked really pissed too"
Hanna: " yeah. But jin ae will calm down she just needs to be left alone for now."
Me: "you know I don't know how you do it, you go to college and at the same time you deal with all this."
* I said in admiration.*
Hanna: "it does drive me crazy sometimes and when it does, I usually go boxing or work out more."
Me: "you're literally perfect. I don't even diet or work out. "
*this made her laugh*
Hanna: " hahaha I couldn't diet either, I ended up giving up really quickly....oh do you wanna be my workout buddy?"
Me: "I would love to."

Hanna then led me to this really cute cafe place where we had coffee and ranted to each other about how we felt about this situation. The next day, all of us met a little early and had a heart-to-heart conversation. No matter how frustrating this thing with so hee was, it formed a special bond with the rest of the members. Instead of us, this group called twice debuted. None of us wanted to give up though. We all want this too much and at every evaluation, we made sure to show that. Even JYP personally came and apologized to us. He didn't want the rest of us to be punished for something sohee did. Haha, we even have a group chat with him. Maybe, just maybe there's still hope for us to debut. And I'm not gonna give up until we do.
