13. Pains and Attractions

Finding something lovely without looking for it...

"Go straight inside and wait till I come back" said Luca, when they arrived at the manor. Hyukjae seemed lost in his own world to actually hear what Luca had said, but when Donghae started walking towards the main door, Jake came behind him.

"Come with me" said Hyukjae quietly and Donghae followed him into his room. Hyukjae walked up to the table and turned towards Donghae,

"Sit" he said, tapping the table and Donghae gave him a surprised look.

"You want me to sit? There?"

"Else how the fuck are you supposed to take out those shardes of glass? I can't believe how you stayed till the last munite"

Donghae wordlessly came and sat down on top of the table and gazed up at Jake,

The door opened and Luca came in holding a first aid kit, and Hyukjae turned to look at him,

"Keep it here Luca and and close the door when you go"

"But boss I-"

"Do it" said Jake with a final look and Luca bowed.

"As you wish sir" he said and left; clicking the door shut softly behind him

Donghae stared at Jake's weird behaviour, he shouldn't be doing this, he could've let Luca do the job; why-

"Incase if you're wondering, I do have a training in first aid, it's essential for us to learn it"

"Oh" said Donghae; unable to find anything else to say, "you should've let Luca do it, why do you bother yourself?"

"Because I wanted to have a talk with you...alone" said Hyukjae; his voice deep and steady with his blue gray eyes looking almost lost.

"About what?"

Hyukjae took a few moments to respond, and he looked into Donghae's eyes,

"First of all" he said, "Thank you for protecting me back there"

"You're welcome" said Donghae and smiled, although he winced after that. "Though I hardly deserve it, it was my job to protect you"

"Hmm" said Jake and continued to open the medical kit, but to Donghae's amazement, he saw Jake's hands shaking.

"Hey" said Donghae gently "Jake, if you're not sure about this, then you can let Luca-"

"You are the only person who calls me that do you know?" said Jake softly.

Donghae stared at him, his heart beating fast for a reason he didn't quite understand.

"Call you what?" asked Donghae hasitatingly.

"My name" said Hyukjae, "no one ever called me that, unless they're close to me"

"Well, if you don't want me to-"

"No!" he said and Donghae winced, he couldn't understand what was going on,

Hyukjae sighed and and placed his hands on the first button of his shirt,and suddenly an unknown longing gripped Donghae's heart, he became aware of everything, the silence of the room, the darkning sky outside and Jake's own breathing, the warmth of his body in front of him...so very close to him..

Jake's long fingers defly freed the button from its button hole and Donghae moved his eyes away from what he was doing, his face growing warm as Jake popped the bottons of his shirt on by one and gently removed his shirt.

Hyukjae looked down at Donghae's waist and grimaced, little glass pieces were trapped on his skin were they still bled.
