IN THE REPUBLIC, slavery was supposed to have ended, but not in the Outer Rims, slavery was everywhere in those territories, where the Republic couldn't reach them, so the masters of the slaves got away with the slavery.
The Skywalker familywas caught as slavers from birth, they weren't the lucky ones to be free like the people in the Republic.
Until they meta Jedi, he freed the Skywalker children and took them under his wing to make them Jedi Padawans where they'd fight for the Republic.
And from going under the Padawan trials, she fell for another Jedi despite it was forbidden, but they made it work, and they wanted a life together away from the Order one day to start a new family.
But then theJedi found out the Skywalker's part in this world was more great than anyone else's for they would bring down the Sith Order once and for all, all because Anakin was the Chosen One.
Sadly Anakin was also the reason why the Jedi Order wad destroyed for he killed liberty and brought the world down on its knees so he could an Empire — all for Padmé, their love destroyed the world, Elara and the Jedi.
